It's a very durable product and is easy to install depending on your door frame. But I highly recommended this product for one of the top security door locks I know.

I purchased two of these one of which I installed right after purchase and the second months later. The first installed product worked great. The second product would function but takes two hands to pull and rotate the lock device out of position. Take your chances but it appears manufacturing standards are compromised for the sake of cost. A elderly person or someone attempting to use one hand would have trouble. Stick to the original.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SR357 A real MUST have product
I bought these for both doors of my home 5 years ago. They are very strong and simple in design. Extremely useful if you have toddlers that have figured out how to unlock your doors (My 5 year old still cannot get this lock open....Of course we have never taught him how it works). The greatest feature of this product is the added security it gives you when you are inside your house. No one can get in when they are locked and they are 10 times stronger than a dead bolt according to the manufacture. We are in the midst of buying a second house and this product is the first thing my wife asked for. We will have these installed on our doors for the rest of our life.

I got the idea for this security lock in a hotel where I stayed recently; I didn't know if I could find it anywhere, but Home Depot had this one. Be careful to mark your spot before you start drilling; test it closed and open before you install. I put mine up high out of the way, and away from the door handle. But if you had children or handicapped residents, you could put it lower to the floor; very flexible. It would be helpful to have markings to indicate that you have to pull the latch one way first, so I marked mine with a sharpie; for house guests and in case of an emergency. Recommend!

I had a back door with a glass window making the deadbolt easy to access. Installed this device in about 10 minutes and now even if someone breached the door, they still can't get it open from outside.
Easy to open from inside and it is out of the way when not engaged.

Make sure you install perpendicular to the door face or just part of the rubber bumper will engage the door. Comes with 3 long screws, which is good. Materials are good and strong. You'll need to spray some PTFE "Teflon" dry lube on the mechanism for it to work smooth (and not be greasy). The design keeps the rubber "stop" really close to the edge of the door.

I needed additional security on my side garage door and I was limited due to the trim around my door. I found this product online and thought I would try it. It appears to be very solid and nicely made. I am a single mom and I had no problem installing it myself.
A few tips for anyone who may not feel comfortable with the installation. 1. Put the latch in the open position and screw in the smaller screw into the sliding slot, but not too tight. Shut the door and secure the latch before doing the other screws. Once you get it into the position, open the door, secure the smaller screw down tight and mark the position of the other three holes on the door jamb. 2. Use a 1/8" drill bit to pre-drill pilot holes for the longer screws. If you don't you will risk splitting your wood frame. 3. Close the door and check your position again. You do not want to screw in those long screws and find out the position is off. 4. Run the threads of the long screws over a bar of bath soap. This will help drive the screws in more easily. With the length of the screws it is easy to strip the heads and then they are no good.
With this door stop installed, you can not open the door from the outside. I feel it makes the door much more secure. I would definitely recommend this product.
