Customer Questions & Answers

I have 2 pocket doors with this hardware- both continuously get stuck shut, is there solution to this problem other than replacing both locks?

Asked by: irina2isy
Same pocket door fixture has locked too many guests and family in our bathroom.. Thinking it's a design flaw. I hope to find a higher quality fixture if they can't answer this question online.

When the door is open I can't get the pull hook to come up. I push the top and bottom but nothing happens. The latch mechanism is working fine. Am I doing something wrong? Could this be an installation problem? Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry regarding this item from Prime-Line Products. The bottom of the pull-out edge tab should swing outward, when it is pushed in at the top. Even if you were to really tighten down the plate screws, I don't think that would interfere with the operation of the edge tab... I'm thinking you may have a defective part, if it was just recently purchased. If you've had this pull for a while, it is possible that something inside may have broken. To better assist you, please feel free to contact Prime-Line Products directly where a Product Specialist there can better assist you with your inquiry. This product was sent to me from HD in Florida to our home in the Bahamas, I am an American. The packaging had been open previously and the latch mechanism was non functional. The mechanism would bind up before it would latch. You could complete the throw only with pliers. Since it was sent to me out of the USA, I cannot return it. Obviously, someone returned it previously because of the open package and someone at HD thought it be OK to send it on to me, since I can't return it. Not Happy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from In response to Akos This unit is reversable! If yoiu have the patience and tools you can remove the cotter pins for the knobs and switch them to the opposite side. Simple!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disengages and hard to pull with As noted in another review, the knob to work the lock disengages easily requiring reinstallation. Really a cheap mechanism managing the latch. The installation must be exact as well (small latch hook). More importantly, the angle of the edge you press your fingers against while closing the door is angled at such an angle that it is uncomfortable to push the door closed. It should just be a right angle but it is closer to 45 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are great!! These are great. Much better than my 34 year old ones. The pins are goo too inside. The are full instead of half like my old ones. And the quality it pretty good. Not flimsy at all. And these are totally reversable. The sides unscrew and you can flip them. I have the brown version also and its the same quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Latch Mechanism Continually Disengages I've had to re-install this privacy latch multiple times because the internal pin on the latch mechanism disengages from the internal "u" channels that are connected to the knob. Once that happens, turning the locking knob does nothing. Worse, if the latch engages with the door shut, you cannot unlock the door without using some type of shim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice sleek look This fit perfectly on my pocket doors. I changed all my door knobs to the brushed stainless steel and this blended in perfectly. Very easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed. I added a half bath with all satin nickel trim and needed a pull/lock for pocket door. I went to several home improvement stores and could not find anything that was an all inclusive piece that served the purpose in satin nickel or any finish. I am so happy that Home Depot carried this product, it made such a difference providing both privacy and ability to open and shut pocket door with ease.
