I am an elderly woman who is on a fixed income so when my casement operator quit working, I knew I couldn't afford to buy the arm AND pay for someone to install it. Wow!! It was so easy to do myself with just a screwdriver.

I was sure no one made a replacement mechanism for my aging and failing casement windows. I was pricing new windows when a clerk suggested I look in the hardware department for replacement casement operators. I did and found just a few that would fit perfectly.
Removing the wood trim for the windows was somewhat of a challenge. Read the instructions and look carefully at how your trim is installed before you remove it. You'll have to put it back so you don't want to destroy it in the removal process.
I needed more so I looked and found that Home Depot had them on line for the best price. I ordered 11 and they came very quickly. Unfortunately I didn't notice they come in various sizes and I had ordered the longer size which wouldn't fit my windows. I had little trouble returning my on-line purchases to my local store.
