Two screws are provided for each latch strike and they must be installed exactly in line vertically. There is no room to twist the strike (to make it vertical) once the holes are drilled and screws installed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from meh... I bought these and the cast version - installed the cast version first and it broke in about a month, so installed these, expecting them to be more durable. The cast version is molded in such a way that you can just slide the door and the 'strike' pushes the latch up over the tab, securing it. This version, not so much. The latch hits it and it bends the tab of the strike with virtually no effort! Seems to work well by gently lifting the latch and setting it over the tab, but that gets to be a nuisance. I expect the tab on this one to break soon enough from getting bent back and forth so many times as I know not everyone is going to remember that you can't just slide the door shut any more....then it'll be back to the cast ones, as they're so inexpensive I'll just replace them when they break and don't have to worry about remembering to be super gentle in shutting the door....good thing these are dirt cheap and it's a bonus that the come in a 2 pack, though I thought it a bit odd at first, it makes sense to have a backup...and really...at less than $1.25 each, even replacing them monthly it's only $15 a year, so who's going to complain about that!?
