How does this hold up in HOT climates

I live in So. Cal where the temperatures can reach +100. Will this last through the extreme heat or will it shrink and crack?
Asked by: SoCalliving
It is made of solid PVC, so it will not shrink or crack.

How wide is the seal?

It's a bit unclear how wide it is (somewhere I saw a width of 312 inches...? I think they meant length). We need a seal that is at least 2.5 inches wide.
Asked by: Grace
It is 2 1/8" wide.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For a warmer garage I have an attached garage, actually under two bedrooms. It is not heated, but stays above freezing all winter. One windy day I realized that the air was blowing in around the door - not hard, but enough to feel and chill the garage. I bought a roll for each door, and applied them both in under two hours. No leakage around the door any longer, and on average the garage is about 5 degrees warmer than it had been in the past. The color contrasts the doors nicely, and I did not need to paint it. Installation was fairly easy. I would recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased So Far I was looking for a weather seal fro my garage door which faces west. This is the only product I found that you can paint. I looked everywhere and it can only be had at Home Depot online. I read the reviews and installation suggestions. My recommendation is to follow the instructions and nail the seal with 4 inch spacing. I tried the suggestion of using staples and it did not look good, so I pulled the staples and used the nails. There were a couple of spots where I did use staples to supplement the nails to get the best seal. Doing the overhead is the hardest part of installation. Due to the configuration of my trim work, I had to cut my seal in order to get the best fit. It painted up nicely with two coats. The test of time will tell if this holds up to the hot Texas sun in the afternoons. For now I am pleased with the seal and the look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ugly result The product is intended to provide a seal around the sides and top of a garage door. It is made of a rubber-like material. Any bend -- even the slightest -- in installing the material results in a pucker that will be very difficult to disguise. Instead, use available products where the soft lip is attached to a stiffer board-like mounting edge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was easy to install and I thought it was at a great price. I wish I would have installed this garage door seal years ago. I can already tell the difference in my garage, it is holding the heat much better. The seals were also very easy to install.
