Hello,
We recommend using any adhesive that states on the tube "suitalble for plastic or polystryene". We are not able to give brand names.

Answer:
this unit is an adhesive attached unit meaning it goes right to the board. Green board or whatever. There are different types/styles for stud installation.

Answer:
this is not a stud mount kit. Adheres to the wall, or green board. I used liquid nails to adhere the panels to the wall, and caulked the seams and edges.

Thank you for your question, if this is a glue up surround you will trowel the adhesive out with a 1/4 trowel direct to drywall or greenboard that has not been painted or primed.

Answer:
the height is 58". if your faucet controls are stemming from the wall then you will need to cut holes in the siding to accommodate. The siding will sit directly on the tub and adhere to the wall.

Does the three pieces snap together or just glued to existing walls . I only have 58 " width without removing plaster walls to get to the studs. If they do not snap maybe I can make up the 2" difference when the side walls meeet the back wall.

Answer:
These do not snap together. the back panel overlaps the sides. You would caulk the seams after setting the parts.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Decent product From the picture I expected a more solid fixture. It is however very thin and flimsy. I ended up using a trowel with liquid nails - not the liquid nails for surrounds because its too thin - the original liquid nails is thicker and held the pieces in place better during drying. I troweled the walls with very thick/generous amounts up to an inch within the edge of the surround edge, then set them in place. Be sure to caulk the edges on the inside of the panels before setting, then caulk again at the edge to wall. The pieces lifted in some places that did not come into solid contact with the wall. Overall for quick cheap and easy, this works fine. But it is cheap and don't expect it will last. June 6, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by looks better than you would expect for the money The surround is very sleek looking when it's all installed. I wipe it down when we finish showering for the day. It cleans up well. There were some minor scratches on the top of the largest panel but that was from shipping. We did have a glitch in that we needed to hire a plumber to come and lower our hot/cold faucet because the towel rack is where our faucet was. That was a pain and an unforeseen cost. Our carpenter installed it for us as he is completing a remodel for us. We read reviews and he did "foam insulate" the back where the mold is hollow. We have 3 heavy shampoo bottles and their weight is no problem on the long shelf. No trimming was needed anywhere so the install went very smoothly except for the replacement of the faucets. I am very pleased with it. July 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It fit the tub great!!!! The wall kit fit the tub great! The only problem was all three panels were not the same heights . I had to put a trim around the top July 24, 2014
