I'm new to routers but in the description it says it has many straight bits, like ones I could use to make grooves in wood, however all I see in the picture are flush trim bits. So does it come with straight bits or only trim bits?!
Asked by: Chevy513
There are rabbiting bits, chamfer bits, cove bits, and flush trim bits, but no dado or groove bits.

I was disappointed to find that there were only a few ball bearing guides that must be moved from bit to bit using the included Allen wrench. I then checked the picture and it is as shown. I did not check before because I believe most sets, including the ones I purchased from a traveling tool sales event, included a ball bearing guide on every bit that can use one. Be alert! Otherwise, quality appears acceptable for occasional use.

The bits seem to be built well enough and so far, work great. The only complaint I have is with the case. The labels were only partly attached when it arrived. I put them back in place thinking they had just gotten cold during transit. However, they kept coming off until I finally glued them on. I know it seems like a small thing, but I expected better from Home Depot. The bits themselves meet my expectations so far for functionality, but I have only had them for a little over a month. Since I glued the labels on, they have stayed in place.

I have only tested one bit to date and it has worked well. I must admit that I was disappointed in the way the product arrived. The "shelves" were all askew and had come unglued from the case; the clear plastic doors were cracked. I did re-glue the "shelves" and re-pasted the "self-stick" strip on the shelves. I did not buy the product for the case, although it is convenient for storage. In the coming weeks, as I continue projects after the holidays, I will be a better judge of the bits themselves.

But if you are looking at this because of the awesome case... Walk away now. The overall box is okay, however the bits are placed in holes that have plastic sleeves, these hold the bit so tight that they make the bits all but impossible to remove without prying them out. Thus making them dangerous to remove because you can easily cut your fingers on the sharp bits. I tried removing the plastic sleeves but they are affixed to well to remove without tearing up the case. The labels are cheap, made of paper, are barely stuck to the front and can be somewhat hard to read. If you can find a comparable set of bits without the case for less money, do yourself and your fingers a favor and skip this one.

But for the Professional Woodworker 35-Piece Router Bit Set with storage case for safekeeping I’ll give the storage case a Big (F). On the original and the replacement one they delivered to my home the plastic doors had cracks in them and would not open and close properly. Two of the four rails (in each case) that hold the bits were not secured to the case. I’ll make the necessary repairs to the case and keep.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I didn't know what i was buying, disappointing I wanted something to try different bits as i did not know what i was doing with a router yet. After I played for a bit I quickly realized this kit is of the lesser quality and does not include a few of the most popular style bits which quickly lead to my short comings at first with my router. get a better carbide set, and you dont need this many bits, you need like 5 maybe

The variety of bits allows me to experiment with my router, and learn about its capabilities. I was a little disappointed that a dado bit was not included in the set, but overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
