The tool comes in a nice kit, complete with everything you need to get started. I need to digress: this nailer DOES NOT handle cleats. While ordering on HD, a pop-up window appeared suggesting 18 gauge cleats for the nailer. I did not see anything in previous reviews about it NOT handling cleats, so I purchased 3 boxes of POWERNAIL1-1/2 in. x 18-Gauge Powercleats Hardwood Flooring Nails. They do not work in the gun, so they needed to be returned. Back to the review -- I used the gun to put down 5/8" solid bamboo, tongue in groove, and I used 1-1/2" x 18 gauge finishing nails (brads). The gun works great, 600 sqft or so, no problems with the tool, and other than having to occasionally adjust the guide plate height (it moves from the nailing action), the gun is a great buy for the money and it helped to expedite the job. I do not recall it ever splitting a tongue, but I did hit the floor face once or twice because the guide plate shifted and I was moving quickly -- my fault. I have not used it as a stapler nor as a plain nail gun (i.e. without the flooring guide), but I am quite sure it will work fine as a finishing nailer (up to to 2" nails). I'd give it 5 stars if the description is changed to note that it does not handle cleats as that would prevent a future inconvenience to someone else.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ChrisC Pretty good tool for the price
Laid down a few hundred square feet of flooring with this and really the only troubles have been: 1) setting the flooring feet (a bit clunky to tighten the small knobs while holding the tool in the correct orientation, a longer foot would probably solve this but make the tool a lot clunkier), 2) staples have to "dog-legged" in a little, as the back handle/staple magazine support gets a little in the way (minor), 3) depth stop is a little tricky to get dialed-in, but once it is just set-it-and-forget-it.
Really all the above are pretty minor and overall the tool performs very nicely and seems quite well-constructed.

I used this to install bamboo hardwood floor. It was one of a few that was 16 gauge which is a requirement of the flooring. It worked very well overall. I never had a jam, but on a few occasions the nail wouldn't be fully shot into the wood so I would have to grab a pliers and pull it out.
For the price and its usefulness as a finishing nailer which I used for trim, I would highly recommend it. It's lightweight and easy to use.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bg1990 Super floor nailer for 3/8 in laminate/engineered hardwood!
This nailer did a great job on my living room. The square footage was just less than 400 sq ft. The 18 ga staples were $7.00 for a 1000 pack. I bought 2 packs. Used about 1500 staples. Very easy to reload. Did not even have to adjust the nailer out of the box for my 3/8 inch wood. I set the pressure on my portable air compressor at 80 - 85 lbs and started nailing the planks. Super floor nailer!

I used this nailer to install over 300 square feet of 1/2" engineered hardwood floor. It took over 1,500 18 gauge staples and one or two single misfire, jam, or problem. Save yourself a hundred dollars over the more expensive products that accomplish no more than this one. . Buy with confidence, it's a good product and I'm very happy to have saved some money and still get my project done with zero problems.
