Product Overview

The Professional Woodworker 29-Piece Power Drill Bit Set features titanium nitride coated, high speed steel bits. These bits last longer than standard bits because they are created to reduce drag, which allows cordless drill batteries to last longer and to reduce heat and friction which allow for a longer life of repetitive drilling. The indexed steel index box helps keep your 1/16 in. through 1/2 in. drill bits organized so they are easy to find when you need them most.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic drill set This is your basic starter set for someone who wants a good size selection, by 64ths of inch. So far I have not experienced any problems, but then it has only been a few weeks since received. Evidently this comes in a variety of case styles, some blue, some gray, some 2-tier, and others 3-tier. I received the gray 2-tier one, but actually would have preferred the narrower 3-tier style. The drill spacing and lettering on the carriers make it hard to read the sizes on the carriers if there is a drill bit in front of that. Not a big deal but that could get annoying after a while. The only piece of plastic is the lid handle and that looks like it might last a month before breaking. No problem, just fashion a replacement handle from some wire. The hinges are basic metal-sprung and can allow the lid to come off inadvertently. Usually you just have to snap it back in place. One of the bits had a slight imperfection that would not affect it's current usefulness. I wonder if that will result in the plating coming off later. Keep the set (and case) well oiled and it will probably last a good while.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as pictured First off, the item is not as pictured. Instead of three layers of bits, it only has 2, making the box much wider, and having no chance of fitting in the pocket of my tool bucket. The box also does not restrain the bits properly, so closing it laying it flat will cause 6-8 of the smaller bits to slide out and roll around in side, once jamming the opening mechanism, which jams enough on it's own. And then to top it off, the 1/8" bit was missing. They're cheaper bits (which I expected), but I was looking for a decent storage box, which failed miserably. I will be returning this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To date, this is the best drill bit set I have ever owned. Over the years as a woodworking hobbyist I collected a wide range of drill bits and drill bit sets. Upon receipt of this 29-piece set and doing some preliminary testing I immediately recognized the high quality and durability of these drill bits. So much so, that I gave away my entire collection of old drill bits. I figure this one set will meet all of my wood and metal working needs. In addition, the storage case is made of metal; all of my previous sets were in plastic. The interior of the box is well designed and securely keeps all the bits in their correct slots with readily readable bit sizes. Well done!.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Complete drill bit set The Professional Woodworker 29-Piece Power Drill Bit Set are titanium-coated drills. They are sharp and the titanium coating keeps the edge keen longer than ordinary steel drills. This is a good sized set running from 1/16” up to 1/2” in 1/64th's with straight shanks. If you are constantly trying to find the right size drill bit, this is a good start. It has the basic sizes you need in one place, and your less likely to misplace them as they each have their own spot in the case . The old style case itself is a bit tinny and the hinge holding the bit index holder to the cover came undone early on. No big deal for me as its all about the bits and the metal box otherwise is just fine. I found the set of bits to be sharp and up to the job with no problems drilling both metal and wood. The most important thing is not to overheat them and don't regrind them as it will remove the titanium coating. Its a good set reasonably priced and will last if you follow some care.
