Customer Questions & Answers

Can this light take an LED bulb

Asked by: LB
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. You can install CFL/LED lamps as long as the equivalent rating does not exceed the original maximum wattage. Please pay careful attention to the bulb manufacturer’s warning/caution statements on the packaging or printed on the lamp. For example, many CFL’s will indicate on the packaging that they cannot be used in an enclosed fixture or used with a dimmer. Thanks!

Does this take a regular lightbulb?

Incandescent, 60w?
Asked by: HDshopper
Hi HDshopper, this light can take up to a 75 watt medium base bulb. This means you can use an energy saving CFL bulb or an incandescent of 75 watts or less. You can not use any light bulb rated higher than 75 watts.

Can this light be used with a CFL bulb?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, but check the bulbs warning statements, many are not listed for use in outdoor applications. Also, if you live in a colder climate, CFL bulbs will not light at below freezing temperatures and take several minutes to achieve full brightness at temps below 50-degrees.

1-Light Black Wall Lantern is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from sheet metal construction screws don't match When I l opened the box, all the parts were inside that was stated in the packing slip. Brass screws to hold the jelly jar light. Metal screws with no painted color to hold the light to the wall. The light fixture itself was made of sheet metal, but it was at least thicker sheet metal than the builders grade light I replaced. The biggest problem I had was that the screws provided in the box were larger than the standard galvanized conduit box screw holes, so I had to purchase two screws at the store. While I was there, I purchased matching screws to replace all the screws in the box. Additional cost was less than 2 dollars, plus the trip to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lights, very inexpensive I originally spent almost $200 on sconces for my bathroom vanity, but when we got them home didn't like them. We just wanted something simple, and clean to go with the brush nickel faucets. I had seen these in the store and contemplated painting them but when I checked online noticed they were sold in the brushed nickel! Perfect. The best part is that they were a 1/4 of the cost of my original budget for sconce lighting and they take REGULAR bulbs. Gotta love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple, inexpensive and functional These fixtures provide more than adequate light in the breezeway. Nothing fancy, but they look nice. Easy to change bulbs. I needed two for the space, but another of the same fixture has been in place for years and has stood up well to exposure to sun and rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple light at a great price If you don't need the high fashioned styled light then this lamp fits your need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from functional and nice for the cost wanted 3 small replacement lights for our outdoor entries and these seem to be working fine after being installed for 1 month. Low cost is great as we didn't need anything fancy, just functional.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Finish Scuffed and Scratched Directions for installation are not very helpful. One screw hole not properly tapped/sized for glass installation. The bronze finish was scuffed and scratched. The item was wrapped in plastic and the box was not badly treated by shipping. I believe the item did not receive adequate QC at the Chinese factory. A sign of our times. This brand seems to be a cut above the lowest cost Chinese import. Not this time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good buy. with the glass hanging below electrical contacts the water should not be able to get in there and rust them out like my previous light which the glass was above the contacts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Black 1 Light Wall Lantern I love the purchase; however, I was unhappy with the gold screws that held the bottom glass in place. However,I felt that a black larger screw would have been better for the appearance of the wall lantern, and the bottom glass was to small the light bulb. But It looks great on my back deck with bottom solar lights.
