Customer Questions & Answers

Can the incandescent globes in this light be replaced with halogen or led so they run more cheaply?

Asked by: Branwell
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. You can install CFL/LED lamps as long as the equivalent rating does not exceed the original maximum wattage. Please pay careful attention to the bulb manufacturer’s warning/caution statements on the packaging or printed on the lamp. For example, many CFL’s will indicate on the packaging that they cannot be used in an enclosed fixture or used with a dimmer.

i'm considering this light for my kitchen. when beneath it, can you see the light bulb directly or is there a shade that softens it?

This fixture is open on the bottom. The bulb is recessed quite far up into the shade, but if look into the fixture from below, the bulb is visible.
