Customer Questions & Answers

I have an outdoor plug box and heavy duty cable. If I buy Progress P8270-31 and the black 1-light spotlight, do I need anything else except a bulb?

Can I use a halogen bulb in the fixture? Does Progress make a spot with an LED bulb and an adjustable head?
Asked by: Anonymous
To answer your last question, yes, we do offer an LED landscape spotlight - see link below. Regarding your plug box, be sure to use an enclosure like the one listed below to protect the cord and outlet. P8270-31 is not designed to operate fixtures that have a single lamp greater than 45 watts - it is really only intended for use with our LED fixtures. If you do install a halogen fixture, such as a 50-watt spotlight, you might want to consider our model P8517-31. Lastly, you'll need low-voltage landscape cable, we recommend either 12 or 14-gauge, but if you're only installing one light, you'll be OK using 16-gauge.
