Answer:
Always remember the saying, "righty tighty lefty loosey" So turn it to the left to remove. But have someone else hold the base at the same time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 65 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Light. Very attractive I used these in the hallway and they look awesome! Easy to install and a lot of light will leak through so you can see what you need to. I would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive good looking light. January 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice simple light We needed a light for our hall that wasn't too large and had clean lines. This product fit our needs. It is reasonably priced, looks nice, and was easy to install. October 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware When it becomes time to change the bulb By the time you need to change the bulb the glass becomes stuck and hard to spin out. Haven't figured out how I'm going to get the glob off with out it breaking yet. Its only been in stalled 6 months so Maybe the glass was over tightened when I installed it, but I don't thing so. Put a blub in that will last forever and you won't have a problem. June 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOve them Very pretty and not gaudy! I have 9 of them in my house. March 10, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Difficult to install Base needs Keyhole style mounting holes so one can "push and twist" to install. Aligning mounting screws through fiberglass under base very time consuming and difficult especially while standing on a ladder. January 6, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by How many people does it take to change a light bulb? Tried to change the light bulb myself and I could not twist the globe from the base. It was stuck. My husband tried and he couldn't get the globe off either. After reading the other reviews I noticed everyone else had the same problem. My husband and I decided to do it together. I held the base in place and he twisted the globe. Bingo!!!!! It worked!!! So if you plan on purchasing this product, changing the light bulb is a 2 person job! September 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good price the home depot have good price Very good for the price the home depot very good price December 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Get the square version of this light instead I just finished writing a review on the square version of this light. I have this one and the square one. Like the look, like the price. In comparing the two, however, I would go with the square version because of lower price and 2 bulbs vs. 1 bulb. The round light looks nice - the bronze base with the alabaster glass - but it only has 1 light bulb so the glass isn't fully illuminated. Every time I look at it, I think a light bulb is burned out.
