Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the brushed nickel finish and the antique nickel finish?

Asked by: Anonymous
antique nickel is a little more gray than the brushed nickel, but they look fine with my brushed nickel towel bars already in the bathroom. Not a glaring difference and I actually like the antique nickel look.

What is the maximum bulb wattage you can use with this light fixture?

Asked by: HelpKind55
100 watts. This wattage is extremely bright and I opted to put in less wattage bulbs with very adequate brightness.

Is this light fixture dimmable?

Asked by: sso
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Yes, this light is dimmable, with a standard incandescent dimmer. If using LED bulbs please be sure the bulbs you purchase are dimmable. Thanks!

Once the fixture is mounted, what is the measurement from the wall to the globe?

I wanted to ensure that a framed mirror would fit below the fixture if it is mounted in the downward position.

It never tells you in the directions but the wall bracket needs to mounts diagonally - at a very specific angle or the light won't be level. of course it doesn't tell you what angle. A simple paper template would have eliminated an hour of frustration. I think only the 3-light version installs like this. it's because the bar crossing the middle light prevents accessing the horizontal thumbscrew tips that secure the light to the wall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Attractive, pain to install I really like how this light looks, it's classic and contemporary in a nice mix. Unfortunately, it's a huge pain to install. The wall plate and mounting screws are designed very oddly. Instead of the normal, level or plum mounting screws, you have to install the wall plate so that the screws are perfectly diagonal. Otherwise the fixture isn't level. I figured it out eventually, just took several attempts on and off the wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Easy to install...gives off more than ample light with only 3~75w bulbs(it calls for 3~100w bulbs)...I could probably use 60 instead. Love the way it looks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Industrial look We are currently remodeling 3 bathrooms in our 20 year old house to update it. When i first spotted this light fixture at Home Depot i was so excited because it looks different than all of the other options we had. It gives our bathroom a very updated stylish look. It's more of an industrial look which is really the new style now and you see this look in many magazines and on HGTV shows. The globes seem big however the design is beautifully balanced and modern. I purchased the antique nickel and I am using 60 watt led natural light bulbs and we have light gray painted walls. The lighting thru the globes is very clean and bright but not too bright. You can use brighter bulbs however 60 watt each was perfect for the size bathroom these are in. It was easy to install and I love the look so much I am thinking of replacing the other light fixtures in the other bathrooms with the same as these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good, hard to install Bought these lights to replace the contractor light bar in my bathroom. They look very nice and have a modern, industrial look to them. While not a professional electrician, I have installed many lights in the past 20 years of home ownership. Typically these go up without an issue, but not quite so easy in this case. The problem is the size of the housing where the wires all hook up in the back, and the round connecting plate used to connect to the electrical box in the wall. These parts are almost exactly the same size. The housing connects to the plate by two mounting screws with decorative nuts, as is typical, but they are predetermined to be in the 2 and 8 o'clock position in order to match up with the holes in the front of the housing cover. This means that if the holes in the plate do not match up perfectly with the electrical box, and in my case they didn't, then you've got some problems. While there are a number of curved slots and fixed holes in the plate, no matter how I installed it, there are gaps visible exposing the box cavity behind the housing. Because the 2 and 8 o'clock position have to be maintained, the only adjustment that can be made is up or down with this round plate in order to keep the light level. By simply making the connecting plate and/or the housing slightly larger, this would not be an issue. So now I've got to take the lamp down, drill new holes in the mounting plate or use different mounting hardware to make it work. What should have been a 30 minute project is now going to take considerably longer...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These lights are a hansome addition to our remodeled guest bathroom. The prismatic shades are unusual and filter the light bulbs without losing good light.
