Answer:
There is a method of turning off at the switch and then back on quickly that puts the light into always on mode for several hours or until reset by switching off and waiting over 10 seconds then back on again.

The motion feature for this fixture can be temporarily disabled by flipping the wall switch (starting from the on position) off-on-off-on. This will cause the fixture to stay on for up to 8 hours (or until daylight).
The same fixture is available without a motion sensor, P5928-77.

CFL and LED lamps will certainly fit into this fixture. The question is really whether the CFL or LED lamp is rated to work in a motion detecting fixture. All we want is for the light to come on when some one walks by? Should the light switch in the house be "on" or "off"?Could there be something wrong with the sensor? Can we replace that part? Thank you.

Answer:
Light switch should be on.
Try each of the following to issolate problem.
1.Check the fixture first for bad/loose bulb .
2.Using non invasive voltage tester verify electricity at fixture.
3.Remove fixture, check for loose/wet connections. Attach wires to "hot" extension cord to assure fixture is operable.
4. Replace switch.

Answer:
The light switch will need to be in the ON position. The P5926-77 should come on with motion at night.
The fixture has a photocell that keeps it from coming on during the day. However, it does have a manual override that will allow it to be operated by the wall switch. After 8 hours it will automatically return to motion mode.

Answer:
It sounds like the electronics need to be reset. To do this, move the switch to the test position and turn off the power at the wall switch. Wait 1-2 minutes and turn the switch back on. After 5 minutes, return the switch on the fixture to the 5 minute setting. This process will reset the electronic timer.
