We had an old globe light in our master bath. It was 48 inches long. Unless we elected to go with two separate lighting fixtures, we found our choices for a replacement limited. We had to buy online as the stores did not carry many of the longer units. This one looks good. It seemed a bit pricey for what you purchased, but again your options are limited when you go with a longer fixture. We are happy with it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by knittygirl4 great update
I ordered this fixture, plus one with less lights for an instant update for my bathroom. We put our house up for sale and I wanted something that looked nice, but wasn't too expensive. I had it installed, so I don't know about installation, but I love the look. It perfectly covered the lights that were already there - the typical globe lighting that builders put in. Very happy!

I had this installed in my bathroom to replace a light. This matches nicely with the bronze faucet. We are very pleased.

Beautiful light! Easy to install. We bought two of these, different sizes, for two baths. I just needed a smaller pair of hands (wife) to be able to screw on the rings that hold the domes. The domes narrow to the point that I could only get two fingers on the rings for screwing. Even with the smaller hands, I found that a little downward pressure (we installed with domes down) and slight turning of the domes themselves was able to finish the tightening process. The extra hands are also helpful to hold the light while connecting the wiring. I installed with the recommended 100 watt, type A bulbs, but they are too bright. I plan to replace with lower wattage LED's.

Great bathroom light fixture. I was nervous about purchasing without seeing in store but it came exactly as pictured. Smooth lines for design style and nice and bright (with 75w bulbs installed). My husband was able to install relatively easily. Our fixture connection was off-centered but he was able to make adjustments so the fixture centered over the vanity. Great purchase for an excellent price!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BAH Basic bathroom lighting, Can use A style LED bulbs
This bath light is not fancy but is well priced and can look good in many different bathroom styles. We needed something ~4 feet long to replace an existing fixture so we really didn't have many choices. LED fixtures do not put out enough light for our needs and this fixture, since it takes standard A bulbs, can use virtually any technology bulb out there. It is rated to take 6 bulbs of up to 100 Watts each (600 Watts!), but I have installed 6, 60 W equivalent warm white LEDs, for a total electrical draw of only 60 Watts - these give more than enough light so I run them on a dimmer.
Installation comprises mounting the back plate to the wall with two screws attaching the hot, neutral and ground wires, and attaching the fixture to the back plate with two decorative cap nuts. I substituted heavy load wall anchors for the two supplied molly bolts.
This item is not available in-store but it arrived in perfect condition.

I am surprise that I could not find them in store. I made a gamble to purchase them online without actually feel them. So far I am happy with the product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wayner Nice replacement fixture for the standard low end builder fixture.
It was easy to remove the old fixture and replace it with this much larger unit.
However, when I received this item ordered from Homedepot.com it arrived, with one chipped shade and a big scratch near the lower right hand corner of the fixture and it is a little on the flimsy side.. I purchased a second unit and returned the first unit in the store, but even the second unit I received from Homedepot.com had a similar, but not as long scratch in it. It is either the quality control department of the manufacturer or perhaps a small piece of grit or gravel got between the fixture and the sheet of plastic that it was packed in. In any case, the new unit makes the room much brighter, using 6 led bulbs and a dimmer, so it is also more energy efficient.
Just look very carefully at the unit after unpacking and BEFORE installing.
