My current vanity light is 34", this one is 48". Will any adjustment have to be made from an electrical standpoint? Also, can regular household bulbs be used?

Answer:
No adjustment would be necessary. You can attach this fixture to the old electrical connection no problem.

Answer:
Depends - the electric supply connections are in the center of the unit, so if your old one is also on center, then wiring should not be a problem. Regular old incandescents are fine.

However, the new vanity's integrated sink was offset to the right with a medicine chest over it. The three light fixture in the center of the entire vanity area looked strange. The 48 " fixture spans the area and balances the look. The contractor used the same electrical box as was intended for the three light fixture. The larger fixture uses the standard size and wiring. We used regular household bulbs. The fixure would take 100 watts in each light but we lowered to 40 watts because the small room was too bright with five 100 watt bulbs. Hope it helps. Read Less

Answer:
From an electrical standpoint, you'll need to confirm the circuit for this fixture has available amperage capacity since you're increasing the electrical load.
Yes, regular household bulbs can be used with this fixture.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Basic bathroom lighting, Can use A style LED bulbs This bath light is not fancy but is well priced and can look good in many different bathroom styles. We needed something ~4 feet long to replace an existing fixture so we really didn't have many choices. LED fixtures do not put out enough light for our needs and this fixture, since it takes standard A bulbs, can use virtually any technology bulb out there. It is rated to take 6 bulbs of up to 100 Watts each (600 Watts!), but I have installed 6, 60 W equivalent warm white LEDs, for a total electrical draw of only 60 Watts - these give more than enough light so I run them on a dimmer. Installation comprises mounting the back plate to the wall with two screws attaching the hot, neutral and ground wires, and attaching the fixture to the back plate with two decorative cap nuts. I substituted heavy load wall anchors for the two supplied molly bolts. This item is not available in-store but it arrived in perfect condition. March 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blends well with Vintage and traditional. This fixture is a great complement to our en suite vanity. The rest of the room is so this was a blend of vintage and traditional finishes so the bright chrome and soft white globes are just what we wanted. The retainer rings for the globes were a little tricky to install because there is not much space for your hand between the ring and the globe. We also drilled extra holes in the mounting plate because of the way our previous fixture was installed, but that just made the installation more secure. March 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A "face lift" for our bathroom It was easy to install and looks really good. Very pleased. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We like it. We are having the bathroom remodeled. The electrician wired the fixture box to the center of vanity area. However the new vanity sink is offset to right with a medicine chest over it. A smaller light in the center of the wall looked strange with the off set sink and dedicated mirror. This fixture spans the area, balances the look and is attractive. It is well made but doesn't call a lot of attention to itself. We did lower the bulb wattage since there were five lights. I would recommend the fixture. I didn't install it, the contractor did. He didn't have problems but he has more experience than most of us. September 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking light fixture The light was delivered very promptly, earlier than forecast. It was in excellent condition. Installation was very easy, and the result was beautiful. January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality for price, fairly easy to install I was replacing an multi-light bar. I was very happy to discover that the holes in the mounting bracket matched up with the pre-existing holes left by the old unit. My only problem was that the chrome decorative plate edge was slightly bent in the box but since it is on the top above eye level it is not visible. December 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value, Reasonable quality Nice that it will accept 100 watt bulbs, great light when you need it (be sure to add a dimmer switch though.) Typical installation but I drilled an extra hole so I could screw the left and right side directly into studs, much easier and solid as a rock. February 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great! Very modern and updates the bathroom. Gives great light to a large bathroom. Easy to install. January 1, 2014
