I chose this fixture for my living/"dining" room. I had chosen a modern style ceiling fan for the living part of the room and I needed something with similar styling for the dining part of the room. (I don't actually use this room for dining, but that's what the floor plan calls it.) I love the style of this fixture. I shopped around and there simply isn't anything else like it for the price. I read the other reviews about the bubbles in the glass so I was very careful. I went to the store and the patient Home Depot employee indulged me and opened several boxes before I found one that didn't appear to have any bubbles. (Once it was installed, I found that there is a small bubble, but it's not really noticeable.)
One of the reasons I chose this fixture is that I wanted plenty of light and this fixture allows me to use up to three 100W bulbs. That's even more light than I need, so I have three 60W equivalent CFLs and am happy with the light output.
My contractor installed this fixture for me and he had an issue with the assembly. Two parts that were supposed to fit together didn't because they were both "female" and he had to run to Home Depot and buy a "threaded nipple" in order to get everything to fit together. (See pictures attached.) He did manage to get it installed, though, and I love it. For weeks I would turn it on just to admire it. It's a year old now and I still pause and admire this fixture when I walk into the room. Even with the problems I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

The only issue I have with this light fixture is the glob has two or three air bubbles that are quite visible in the glass. I could bring it back, but that's a hassle.

The install was mostly no harder than any typical light fixture. If you're doing it by yourself though, installing the glass can be challenging. I have bigger than average hands and it was still hard to balance the glass with one hand while screwing the nut in place. I'd suggest when changing the bulbs it's a two person job.
Now, here is why this is really important. The 'opal glass' is not an etched frosting. It's some kind of finish like paint. And it scratches really easily. So if you slip or try to 'hunt for the mount' when installing the glass, you will be very unhappy. Luckily the damage was mostly covered by the decorative plate that's part of the light, and we agreed that the damage wasn't worth the trip back to complain to Home Depot. For $100 I would have expected somewhat better quality.

Took my husband almost an hour to install. The two bolts that hold the piece on the ceiling were too long. He also had to adjust the bolt that holds the globe on. Finally after getting it installed with the bulbs in there was a bubble in the glass that is very obvious when the light is turned on. Home Depot was very accomodating and let me bring back just the globe so we wouldn't have to take the whole thing down. They had two left in the store where I bought it. However, after pulling each one out to inspect before switching it out, one had two bubbles in it and one had a bubble and 2 other marks. It's hard to look at it and accept the bubble knowing I spent that much money. The one I had was the lesser evil of the three so I am keeping it for now. Sounds like a defect when the glass was blown.
