Customer Questions & Answers

Ceiling flush mount light fixtures - what is the difference between "depth" & "height" of fixtures?

We are looking for a ceiling mounted light fixture for a master bdrm. that must be less than14 inches from the ceiling. I do not know if the dimensions listed on the website for depth mean depth from the ceiling" If this is correct, what does the dimension for height refer to? Height of what? Height from where to where? Thanks!!
Asked by: Anonymous
For this fixture, the dimensions are 17 In. Diameter x 8-3/4 In. Height. The diameter is the "width" of the fixture at its widest point and the height measures the tallest dimension vertically. Since you need a fixture that is no taller than 14 inches, this particular light meets that criteria.
