Can this be planted in a large pot and if so will it survive the winter in Denver in a pot?

Asked by: Curious
I have mine in a pot, usually they do quite well. Now for the winter, If would if possible move indoors, if this can not be done, then make sure the container will be able to withstand the cold (thin plastic could crack) and I would feed the plant and cover with some mulch around the base, also if possible move to an area where it will not be blasted by the arctic wind.

Are hills good place to plant these?

I have a hill that doesn't want anything to live on it. I was thinking of digging up some of the dirt and putting new soil down. I have seen these plants before and really like the looks of them. The hill faces mainly to the southwest and gets afternoon sun . Do you recommend these plants for covering a hill? Thanks!
Asked by: Terpgolfer
I think it would be great for a hill, when they bloom they bring so much color to where ever they are. Just make sure the have some really good soil...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice plant! Alot of care was taken to ship this plant. I was very surprised at how big and full it is. It was shipped very fast and the company even called ahead to make sure I understood it would be dormant but is healthy and will bloom into a beautiful plant. I have to say it certainly is healthy and was packaged very securely. Great customer service! I cannot wait to plant in my yard as soon as Spring is here!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plants arrived looking like they'd been put thru a cycle in the clothes dryer I paid a little over $160 for 5 of these plants. I received them yesterday. When I opened the boxes, every one of them was dumped out of the pots, dirt was everywhere, and limbs were broken off in the box. They only had tiny root balls left as most of the roots were torn off & left in the bottom of the pots or in the dirt in the box. I am very disappointed. I put them back into the pots with dirt & put them in my greenhouse...I just hope they make it..The shipping was free but I would have gladly paid for shipping if they had arrived in better condition. I suggest if you want one of these plants, you go & pick them up yourself if they are available. (In the picture of the plant, I have already put dirt back into the bottom of the pot & placed the plant on top,but hadn't filled in the rest of the dirt).
