After about six weeks since it's been planted, it is now drooping and the leaves are turning yellow. It was gorgeous before that. The soil has been very wet due to a lot of rain and it retains water, even the grass is soggy. Could it be too much water and if so what can I do to save it? FYI: I bought two, and the other one is great!
Asked by: Barbara
Hi Barbara, it could be due to too much water. Fine Line does prefer well-drained soils and medium moisture, so if there is a way you can help it to get more well-drained soil that would help. Even putting it in a container or on higher ground where the water will drain off quicker could help. Also, feel free to call us at (734) 654-7485 and we could have you send some pictures to make sure it will be OK. Thanks, Hailee

What zone are these shrubs for?

Asked by: Cj
Hi Cj, The Fine Line ColorChoice Rhamnus is hardy in zones 2-7. Their fernlike foliage turns yellow in fall and makes an ideal choice for containers and narrow beds. Best of all, they are non-invasive and deer resistant. If you have any questions, please call our hotline at (734) 654- 7485. Best regards, Fallon

I was very impressed with the quality and health of the shrub. We planted the shrub immediately adding a goodly amount of compost to give the roots a good growing medium. The shrub came with great instructions for planting and care. This aided us in the placement of the shrub in our flower garden.

When I saw the foliage of these plants I couldn't resist their uniqueness! I hope to get them planted this weekend. I wasn't sure exactly where I'd plant them because I'd like to show them off; but if I put them in the front yard, I'd hardly ever see them. And these plants aren't evergreen so I think they'll end up in my backyard. I love to watch these sway in the wind and am currently building a butterfly garden next to the barn in my backyard and these will be a great addition. I'll be able to see them from my kitchen and family room and enjoy them all year round. I got both the 3 gallon size and 1 gallon size of this plant because I wanted to see the difference. The larger plant is supposedly between 1-2 years old and is about 4 feet tall; the smaller plant is supposedly 1 year old and is about 2 feet tall. I'm curious to see how fast the plants grow and how long it will take for the smaller one to match the larger. And I hope I can manage the height of these because I'm short and really don't want to maintain really tall plants. These are supposed to top out at 8 feet tall and I sure hope that's right. I think these would be a great addition in any yard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine Line Color-Choice Rhamnus Fine Line buckthorn shrub is a columnar plant that can grow 6 to 8 feet tall and about two feet wide. It is freely branching from the base with scaling branches that bear arching willowy leaves, leaves are glossy green and to 5 inches long. In the fall the leaves develop an attractive yellow fall color. The shrub loses leaves seasonally. The 1-gallon shrub arrives in a vented box to keep the air flowing and the plant healthy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shrub This is a great little shrub. My goal is to have it hide my gas meter on the front of my house. The color is a nice green and matches the red of my house nicely. I also wanted something that doesn't require pruning and can grow well in a partly shaded area. I am not much for gardening etc, so this shrub will be perfect. It was shipped to me and arrived in perfect condition for planting.
