The drill is ok, it can do the job but with a few caveats: It is a small drill, very compact, and can drill small holes its a better solution to drill small holes in PCBs, heatsinks, etc than mounting a regular drill in a stand as it will provide more precise control The mechanism to secure the drill so that it does not rotate around its axis (left right direction on the table) does not hold the drill well enough and consequently it can be difficult to align precisely as it might "walk" away from the target The drill is loud The chuck and vise should be standard accessories The TBH looks like a better drill, but is not available on 120v US, and has a larger minimum drill size (.5mm). You can still buy the TBH if you minimum drill size is of that size, but you need to buy a up-converter transformer

I added the optional chuck since I am primarily drilling glass with diamond tipped bits in water and the drill bit manufacture recommends using the chuck. The unit is easy to set up out of the box. Changing speed is a snap, though I wish they would have included an extra drive belt just because I am the type of DIY'er that fears the worse. When setting the unit on a bench, place a piece of felt or something under it as it tends to scratch the wood surface. The ONLY complaint is the rubber end-covers on the height adjuster screws pop of when tightening / loosening with wet hands--really wish they would have just machined the rods with knurling instead of the rubber end-covers on the ends. Note that the Praxxon machine vise is NOT included, but is is a great option to have when drilling smaller objects. Overall this is a 10 out of 10 and I found that Home Depot had the best price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The drill press is not what I would consider high... The drill press is not what I would consider high quality given the price point. It is accurate with respect to runout (using the optional chuck), however, the motor speed varies considerably during operation. The drill press is quite loud since the belt used is not very good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed - sturdy, accurate, and compact. When my cheap no-brand mini drill press (unsurprisingly) broke, I knew I had to invest in a quality drill. This one is perfect for my small metal studio. Relatively quiet, obviously well-built. No shake in the bit - gives me the extremely accurate drilling I need. Came with a great instruction/care manual as well. Highly recommended!
