I really wanted to like this mill but there is far to much vibration for it to do anything useful. I couldn't even use it to drill holes in aluminum let alone steel. Also the way you have to attach things to the table to mill them is sketchy at best because it's pretty much impossible to safely attach anything to the work table (the real name eludes me at the moment) I followed the instructions to the letter. I believe that maybe you could get something done with the mill but it wouldn't ever be pretty or useful in any way and he would probably have to do it about 6 times just to get that. I really wanted to like this but it doesn't work for even the smallest jobs... Therefore I'm going to return it and get a more solid mill (this one is mostly plastic) if I were to change this product I would make it battle completely and I would add a very small vise grip.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by waydh Good Product
This micro milling machine is fine. I am able to fabricate parts to within +/- 0.005 inches. It's pretty much what I expected for something this small and inexpensive. Easy to install, no special power requirements.
The XY table is good. It reads down to 50 um (0.002") but you can easily infer down to 25 um (0.001"). The table is a little wobbly at the ends, even after tightening the adjustment screws. But it still makes good parts. The z-axis is nice and tight.
The picture on the website, and on the box, hints that it comes with a few end mills, but it does not. You have to buy them separately. It comes with a range of collets; from 1 mm to 3.2 mm.
You have to set your expectations appropriately when you purchase this product. It is not a $10,000 professional milling machine. But it is good enough when used properly.

I gave the purchase of my Proxxon MF-70 Mini Milling Machine 4-stars for two reasons...
*In the stock photo you'll see three milling bits along with the included parts.Does not come with the milling machine or is listed as the box's contents.
*As soon as I opened the shipping box and lifting out the factory box I noticed the bottom was unsealed when the machine and parts fell right out.Thankfully it all landed on Styrofoam but it could have been worse.
Overall this is a great milling machine for someone who works with small parts.Either it be making PCB board set-up,making service parts from stock metal.or even making crafts this machine will do it.There is a expensive kit but this machine can be set up for CNC.It is basically a Proxxon rotary hand tool in a milling machine format.Crank it at full speed and cut hard metals for a while yes you can cause the motor to overheat.Treat it right though it will last.If anything I could change about this machine it would be for it to have a pull bar at the side rather than the rotary knob handle...I'm just used to the pull bar but Proxxon's method works fine.German made though and built with quality!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MsuPup very well constructed, but grossly overpriced
It's not exactly a ripoff due to the workmanship of the base, but this is nothing more than a dremel in cast iron. The first time I used it to cut through thin aluminum, the motor began smoking from the load. Definitely overpriced considering the cost of a mounted dremel bed.
