Answer: 
Because it is NOT CARB (California Air Resources Board) compliant.
In other words, it does NOT meet the smog requirements for a small engine generator.

Thank you for your great question.
This unit usually comes with a bottle of oil that is 18 to 20 oz. The amount you put into the oil reservoir should not be more than that. There is usually a bit of oil in the engine from the factory. Only fill the oil level to the top of the marks on your oil dip stick, no more.
My recommendation would be to add no more than 1/3 to 1/2 of the contents of the Read More

My recommendation would be to add no more than 1/3 to 1/2 of the contents of the bottle of oil included in your package. Then add as needed until you are at the top level of the dip stick.

This unit sold by others had a 50 amp plug, it's the same model , yet you only mention a 30 amp. Does it have one? Thank
