If you want a professional looking job, it starts by using the tools a professional would use. My thought as a DIYer is that spending some of the money you save by doing it yourself, is money well spent on the best tools and best products you use for the job.

It is pretty good quality for the price. Always a balance between spending a lot on a brush for reuse verses a throw away and I have no answer to that. All I can say is this applied product to the place it needed to to go. Probably the biggest factor is the hand that holds the brush and not the quality of the brush.

This was purchased for trim work for a painting project. A brush this size is a necessity for those narrow and tight spaces.

Purchased this brush to refinish a wood door. Applied varnish and the brush was stiff enough to get a smooth finish.

Purdy brushes are not cheap, but they are an investment for a painter who wants to deliver a professional job. For a few bucks more, you get a brush that applies paint evenly and smoothly and doesn't fall apart in the process. These are some of the finest brushes I've used.

The 2 1/2" XL Dale is the most precise and versatile brush known to man. I use it to paint kitchen cabinets with oil on a professional level, and also use it to cut in latex trim. And if you use it right, the leading few bristles become an artist's brush for intense cut in.
It's all I buy!

Don't every buy a cheap brush for good paining results. This is a high quality brush that is well worth the price and will last as long as it kept clean. Don't waist your money on cheap brushes.
