Customer Reviews

3 in. XL Dale Angled Sash Brush is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from An excellent brush… for most paints, but not all I have bought literally cases of these brushes. They are excellent quality. However, when I switched to Benjamin Moore Aura paint (a heavy bodied paint), these brushed failed completely, and I stopped buying them. The brush lacks the bristle firmness to spread the heavy paint as you are cutting in. The result is sags in your cut. In fact, I have been unable to find any Purdy brush able to handle Aura® paints, not even the brushes labelled "firm". Too bad. If you are using normal, lighter paints, this brush will do you well, although it is extremely expensive. I have been a professional painter for 45+ years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't buy a better brush & worth every penny! Purdy just makes real, quality, paintbrushes! Quality in the way grandpa talked about it... Not the way we think of it now. It can seem hard to pay a little more when you are a DIY'er, but these brushes give you long lasting performance so they prove thier worth to you time and again. Money well spent! These brushes always feel good in your hand, and are comfortable to work with. Trust me, after 10 hours you WILL feel a difference! I've worked around a lot of pro's and looked to see what they use. The only brush I've seen in thier bag has been Purdy. I also love the fact that they are 100% made in the USA. It gives me a lot of pride to know we can still make tools of this caliber! PS. My wife even LOVES to paint with these brushes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well balanced machine. When you handle a brush in your hands for hours on end, you know what I'm talking about. The 2 1/2" XL Dale is the most precise and versatile brush known to man. I use it to paint kitchen cabinets with oil on a professional level, and also use it to cut in latex trim. And if you use it right, the leading few bristles become an artist's brush for intense cut in. It's all I buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cut-in brush This is by far the best cut-in brush I have ever used, nice straight lines. Only down fall it doesn't hold a lot of paint but worth re dipping more often .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They last. The Purdy brushes are made to last. If you clean them well they will last a long, long time. Some of my Purdy's as 20 years old - they look like new. The only one I ever threw away was one I loaned-it came home in tough shape. The fine hair brush makes it easy to "cut" a straight edge WITHOUT buying painters tape. They do not leave paint "lines" so it is easy to get a smooth finish on a flat surface. They may cost a little more; however, the quality is well worth it.
