Rated 5 out of 5Â by JohnS Just the right size you need for projects.
Here's a product that comes in just the size you need without having to deal with full sheets, extra expense, and waste. It's easier to transport, and not too heavy.
I received one of the 2x4 panels, Red Oak, in 3/4" thickness. The 3/4" ply was strong enough to be used as shelving and would work fine for any type of sturdy application.
Be sure to use a fine plywood blade in the circular saw to get a nice fine cut, with very little splintering. Edges sanded fine. Veneer is a good thickness.
I did not have a chance to finish mine yet, but it appears that both sides of this sheet are ready for some stain and several coats of Varathane (or equivalent). Good quality grain.
It handled screws with no issues so the quality of the laminates and layers were good (no pockets).
Overall, it got the job done, and looks great to boot!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by adele0283 Great bookshelves
I got these thicker pieces to make some bookshelves in my computer room because I needed a custom made built in, instead of a standard sized bookcase which I had no room for. I liked the fact that the red oak matched my desk and the shelves were installed in a cut out to the right of where I sit, making it convenient. The wood was easy to work with, having to just make a single cut with the circular saw. It was easy to sand, looked great and I only had to apply a light coat of red oak stain and Varithane to make it match my desk. Now I have the shelves FULL of much needed books and don't have to worry if its strong enough. Definitely suited my needs in a pinch. Nice plywood for projects too. I will order more for some outdoor projects next spring.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Enginerd I made a cabinet with this and it was good.
My experience with this was very similar to my experience with their white oak plywood. Also, even though the only red oak is in the veneer, it still smelled like cat urine (red oak) when I made my cuts. Just can't escape that red oak smell!
This plywood fulfills what I want in plywood; flat, pretty, strong. This was for a piece 3/4" thick, with 5 core plys and a thin veneer of white oak on both sides.
The 'A' face was not as smooth as the '1' face (primary face was not as smooth as the back), but had a consistent appearance and texture. A light sanding gave me the finish I was looking for.
For only having 5 core plys, this plywood was able to hold screws really well. Out of 100 screws I only had two that managed to strip out.
Another thing to be mindful of if your project will show the edge: knots have not been removed from the core plys so you will see what looks like a large black void from a distance, but will actually just be a knot upon closer inspection.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Kenny Very Good Quality Oak
I ordered these to use as risers for a staircase that I rebuilt over the existing one. They worked perfectly and matched the oak stair treads that I also purchased at HD. I ordered 5 boards and there was not a defect on any of them. The quality was very good and it ended up saving me quite a bit of money by cutting these boards myself (3 risers in each board) vs. buying the risers at $18-20 each. the cost was very reasonable although you do have to pay a special shipping charge. I would highly recommend.
