Customer Reviews

16-Channel 960H 2TB Surveillance System with (8) 900TVL Camera 100 ft. Night Vision is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from dependable I bought this in July 2013 so it has run 24-7 for more than 1.5 years, rain or shine. Worked when the temps dropped to 9 degrees and soared to104 degrees, snow, hail, ice storm and dust storms. Two of the 8 cameras have developed problems but still work, one won't switch off of the night viewing and the other won't switch off of day viewing. Absolutely NO PROBLEMS with the DVR even after a couple power outages. When the power came back on, it took a couple minutes for it to reset itself and it works perfectly. Very dependable and a great value!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clear instructions on quick start guide The quick start guide is precise and walks through all the steps and options. Diagrams on the guide are very helpful. This system has 8 900 TVL cameras. I connected it to VGA TV port. VGA port cable is not included. Easy to connect to home network. The picture quality and resolution is good enough for surveillance. 2TB space is good enough for all cameras in full swing. Like the QT view app to access DVR on devices. The extension cables are long enough for good coverage. Start up wizard is easy to connect and setup DVR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't imagine life without it. Seriously. I've had this system running in my home for over a year. Unfortunately, my house is in an area where there is a little bit of crime. Most of it happens about a block south of where I live. This system is great for a number of reasons:1. The cameras are a fantastic deterrent. Other neighbors have had issues, but I have not.2. Having "eyes" on every area outside the house while away (on my phone or work computer) gives ENORMOUS peace of mind.3. You can know when the garbage was picked up, the mail was delivered, a package was delivered, who put something on your door, and when the pizza guy arrives. You can see who is knocking on your door and decide whether or not you want to answer it.4. You can set movement "alarms" which will email you photos and-or start recording if the system detects movement in that area of the camera frame. A pre-recording feature lets you capture what led up to the alarm event.5. If something unusual happens while you're away, you can go back and search by "event" and pull up video from the recorded cameras at that time. You can connect the output to a second input on your TV, so you can just switch to that input to see the cameras.Overall, the system runs without any hiccups or interruptions. It's unobtrusive in that it isn't in your way, but it's always there in case there is ever an issue. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I will surely have one installed in every house I live. I can't imagine life without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Security System! This is a great security system. Q-SEE is all about quality stuff! If you're not ready for digital yet, this is what you need. Of course Q-SEE offers different models with different no. of channels, no. of cameras, type of cameras, hard disk capacity, picture quality, etc... But this 16-channel system with 8 bullet type cameras is a great option indeed! The system is well-packaged and arrives in ~18x18x13 shipping box, inside which you will find the QA-sealed factory box that includes all the items. Packing material is used to make sure you receive your items intact. The DVR has a built in Hard Disk of 2TB capacity. It offers plenty of video storage space. I consider the 960H resolution (960x480 pixels) to be the standard for surveillance/security systems. While it does not offer the quality of HD systems (720P or 1080P), it is very good and competitive in terms of price. The 8 provided cameras are bullet-type, indoor/outdoor, with 900TVL picture quality, which matches the 960H DVR really well. The cameras come with 60ft BNC cables and 2 4-way power splitters. Other accessories are also included such as a "short" 6ft HDMI cable, an ethernet cable, USB mouse, and of course the DVR remote control. Take your time while installing this system. You need to mount your cameras temporarily at different locations to make sure you meet your monitoring and security objectives before permanently installing them and running the cables. 8 cameras is plenty for most residential applications and also good for commercial installations. Keep in mind that the system is expandable to 16 cameras if the need arises. Set up is relatively simple and instructions are clear, but it all depends on how tech-savvy you are. Setting up online monitoring also requires some effort. You can always call Q-SEE's excellent customer service or chat with them online for support. Picture quality is great during the day, and acceptable at night. I have yet to come across a system that delivers to its promise when it comes to night vision, but I am satisfied with Q-SEE. Don't expect to identify people's faces at 100ft at night though. Recommended product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed with the quality of this system! This security system has so many great features. I love the large 2TB hard drive for storage and the picture quality of the 960H and 900 TV lines. Having the smaller, more basic system of this model, I was pleased to have this larger version. The 16 channels are perfect for keeping an eye on my property, and I just need to add more a few more cameras to this set for perfect surveillance. I like that there is a PTZ connection for adding a PTZ camera in the future. The system comes well packaged with good instructions but there is also much more information on the Q-See website. There is also a good support section for help. It comes with everything needed for a quick set up to a monitor and adding it to your network. The DVR has status lights on the front, along with buttons for various functions so it can be controlled without the remote if desired. I like that there is a USB port on the front so it is easier to copy videos than when the port is on the back or side (there is also another USB port on the back). If you want audio, you can add speakers to the area and connect them to the audio in/out connections on the back. The cameras are well made with simple adjustments to position them as desired. I like the adjustable sun visor that helps keeps the sun off the LEDS. The included mouse has a cute red light inside. The white cables only need about half inch holes for installation and they are labeled with the location needed. Although the 3.6mm wide angle lens does not give the best facial recognition, it performs well as a security system with many available features for recording, viewing, saving, and zooming video. The video quality is very good on my 50" HDTV with the included HDMI cable and the remote control comes in handy when checking the security cameras while watching TV! With the 960x480 resolution, the pictures look great and not distorted by stretching.
