Great system but not HD. If you want a clear picture of a face or licence plate at 20 feet, buy a HD system.
But is great for general out door viewing.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Confused Missing or Mis-leading information
Rating is really unknown because there is no mention in ad that the monitor must be 19 inches or that it had to be a 1080P. I have to get a new monitor first and that changes the value.

Thought this seemed like a good deal...but went to attach it to my old 15inch monitor..it wouldnt turn on,so tried pulling power cable,re attaching, montior still wouldnt turn on,so i thought it was bad,but then i tried it on my laptop, turned straight on..so knew it wasnt the monitor,So then looked through the enclosed instructions...in one corner(in small print it said"can only be used with 19inch monitors and up"!!!!!!!I couldnt believe it why would a company make it so you couldnt use any size!!!so that meant i had to try find a cheap 19inch at a thrift store, which i couldnt..so had to buy a new one..called tech support (india of course!!)about the 19inch monitor thing..they said it was a "feature"i said well a pretty terrible one to force customers to have to buy bigger screens..when other companies let you use whatever size you have!!plugged it in..system booted up...couldnt find anything about default password ..so had to look online...then when cameras came on....colours were washed out,and one camera had text menu all over the picture saying white balance,save/exit etc!!!!and no way to get rid of it..so followed the instruction to reset the cameras to sort out washed out look(and thought it would get rid of text menu off cam...did not... still washed out, text still there..i looked everywhere trying to figure out how to get rid of it...nothing..end result took it back...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JerryT Great system at a great price.
This is a great system that is easy to install and set up. I do recommend that you plan your cable path and the placement of the DVR. I put mine in a room where I have a hardwired ethernet port so I could more easily connect it to the network.
The DVR is compact and easy to store yet it comes with a 500 GB hard drive that is more than enough storage for most applications. .You will need to scare up a monitor to use with the system. The night vision camera does surprisingly well in the dark. The set up for remote monitoring is easy enough and straight forward.
Overall this is a great system!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PJCC Surveillance Cameras & DVR Solid Industry standard. The Software makes the System NICE!
Out of the BOX: Hardware for a Kitty Cam
2 Bullet Cameras. Nice weight sturdy metal - Shield needs adjusting, it protects the camera in case of an attack by Kitty, or shields it from the sun. These will be placed in a dark bathroom to be on Pooh patrol.
60ft of BNC cable doesn't appear to be FIRE rated - I would like that labeled on the Cable.
READ the Markings on the BNC although it will fit on both the Camera and the DVR it should only
be used with the end specifically marked Camera and DVR.
1 DVR 500 Gig Drive. The size of the DVR is great for a small space, 7 1/2 Square by 1 1/2 Deep.
1 Electrical Cord for the 2 cameras and one that is MARKED for the DVR.
Cables: hdmi, Ethernet but they are too short for any set up I have. I think most people would find them too short, probably 6ft.
Remote Control and a Mouse
Literature, attractively printed. Signs, 8 Surveillance warning signs for your
windows. I particularly like that.
This set up nicely on top of my fridge with my cheap garage sale HP Monitor.
This is a temporary set up to monitor my cats behavior in different areas. Too many wires right now, but as Security systems go that is still safer from hacks than wireless.
The cameras were used in a bathroom to monitor my cats. Since the move from one side of the house to the other, I have some bad behavior and the possibility of a sick cat.
Night Visions on the Camera did not work well in a dark small bathroom to see a cat inside the bathtub. It goes black at only about 15 ft and adjusting the Color display for more light didn't work. The solution, I'm leaving the light on in the bathroom.
I want to monitor the cats when working online, I set up the internal Ethernet connection for my desktop. Piece of cake. It installs itself after you input the IP address on your browser. It detects
your IP and even tells you what to type in your browser.
Hook up the Ethernet cable to your router, plug in the DVR. The start up system helps you set
up the connection to your computer quickly. I was asked to download a small file to update my
system for viewing the QSee monitors on my desktop. No problems installing on an older,
and slower computer.
I wanted to set up the external viewing system to test it. First time I get a pop up window from my Anti-virus program telling me the file the QSee address wants me to download is a Virus, DevFetcher. This is a problem I've seen before with online security, it generally requires you lax your security to view remotely by installing a program that subjects your desktop to security risks. This isn't just a problem with QSee, it is just a result of attaching it to the internet. I skipped that for now until I know and understand what risks I'm taking when installing their software for remote viewing.
I found a program at their website called Super Player that takes their recorded footage and converts it to AVI. This looks easy and exactly what I've been looking for. It set up on my desktop quickly and has an easy interface.
The DVR Software is what impressed me the most about the entire system. You start with a basic
Menu by pressing the Menu button on the Remote. Multiple menus show for Backups and
updates with big icons. It will take a few sessions working with it to learn but it is very easy to use and worth it.
Stopping now to check the other window in my browser with live feed to my cats in the bathroom on the QSee "Web Client".
One cat is in the bathtub. I'm leaving the review for a minute to do a pooh check. Back/ The Cameras do have a ZOOM feature that can be used with the remote. I found it wasn't working to re-position the Camera to be able to zoom to the bathtub while also using it to watch the entire room. Glitch, the Zoom pulls to the left of the camera.
It will take some time working with the software for me to find glitches that make it unusable for one thing or another but so far it's VERY GOOD! I do see where the beginning of my DVR has a recording on it from someone on a Silver Stool testing the gear, I hope that is at QSee. Now that was weird.
Great 2 Camera with DVR set for a portable or temporary solution. Last, I like that the DVR has a sound system. The cameras do not but I could attach one to the DVR, that can make it much easier to monitor my cats.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pappy Best for "tech" savie installers
This is a tough item to review. All of the equipment is first rate quality and the picture is crystal clear. But the software for remote viewing is rediculously hard to install. If you are a "techie", this is right up your alley, but if not, you won't be able to do it without contacting tech support. I had to and I must give the folks at QSee high marks for excellent customer service. There was no waiting as there was immediate response to my chat request. And they did do the connection for me over the Internet after about 30 minutes. The person with average computer knowledge won't have a clue, but don't be discouraged, help is but a click away. With that said, this is a very high quality system with excellent customer support.
