Customer Questions & Answers

I saw that you said this cable was not for underground. Is that direct bury, or is that conduit also that can't be buried? If it can't be buried, which cable would I need for buriul? I'm looking at 3 strands over 100' each
Asked by: dmjohnsnx2
Hey dmjohnsnx2, You can bury this, but lightly and not deep, similar to placing landscape lighting cable just under the soil or mulch. If you do bury it deep (more than 6 inches), you run the risk of signal interference as well as making it harder to take out when it needs to be replaced or repaired. In short, you can bury this, just don't do it deep, and make sure if you are connecting any cables outdoors, make sure they are rated for outdoor use as well. Joseph

Customer Reviews

500 ft. Copper-Wire Power Cable with RG-59 and 2 Copper-Wire for Power is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Star Review Rating provided by a verified purchaser

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far superior to some other RG59 in my system Shielding is far better than some RG59 I used several years ago. The power and coax are extremely close and a lot of care is needed when seperating them but that is the only concern I had. I ordered another roll this week to finish the installation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Siamese CCTV Outdoor Cable Cable was of excellent quality. I have deployed 4 CCTV cameras outdoors using the cable. Excellent picture on all of the cameras. Home Depot had the best price for this quality of outdoor cable, I wish they had stocked it in the store but I had to order it online.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cable...but it's white. The cable is good quality and fed out of the box nicely, so it was easy to install. I was however expecting black jacketed cable because of the photo. The cable is actually white. I made it work and still got the job done, but they should add a spec for the jacket color.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT as advertised! I don't know what others have received, but the FIRST issue was in the fact that this cable is NOT terminated. It came WITHOUT the "high quality connectors" as stated in the first bullet item listed. The OTHER Q-See cables I've purchased (prior to this order) were all terminated. This meant that I had to purchase the proper BNC connectors AND the tools to install them (an additional $60 from Home Depot). ALSO be aware that the cable that I was sent was NOT the standard siamese combination cable from Q-See (or other CCTV companies). This cable does NOT have the RG-59 with the 2 18ga wires contained in another grouping together that are connected to each other. THIS cable came with the 2 18ga wires wrapped beside the RG-59 WITHOUT any casing on the 2 18ga wires to hold them together as if they just took RG-59 & 2 18ga wires and then put some shrink wrapping over everything together. Which means I ALSO had to go out and purchase some small shrink wrapping to correctly bundle the 2 18ga wires AND I had to find the correct power connectors because those were not terminated either. I needed 1500' of siamese combination cable for a camera run I'm doing. The ONLY reason I purchased a 1000' & 500' cables was because they said they had "high quality connectors" meaning I wouldn't have to terminate them. IF I had thought these were NOT correctly terminated, I would have simply bought 1500' of raw siamese combination cable and terminated it myself (which I have to do with this cable anyway). I have checked and raw RG-59 & 2x18ga siamese combination cable is MUCH cheaper than this! I do NOT recommend getting this cable. While the cable itself is good quality, the way it is put together as "siamese combination" cable is NOT. You can get the CORRECT cable elsewhere for less!
