Customer Questions & Answers

What type of internet will I need for this system to view remotely?

Asked by: Anonymous
Dial up is a show stopper, literally. DSL will work but the pictures will be a little jittery. Cable is best. My download speed is about 30meg, upload is about 4meg. The pictures are only slightly slower from a remote location than if I use a connection on the same network as the DVR.

Can the cameras be ceiling mounted?

I've seen different camera systems but I need cameras that can be mounted to a ceiling or on the overhang of my roof, not on a wall.
Asked by: badams334
These cams are easy to aim/rotate to mount from any angle. Mine are mounted to eaves (check out the picture), on walls and on posts. Just be careful of the tiny little adjustment screws, they need a #1 Phillips, a #2 will just round them out! Good Luck with your project!

Can I burn a segment of video to CD/DVD for the police to use?

If my home gets broken in to and the system records it can i transfer the video file to my pc to burn the police a copy to use in their investigation?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. You can transfer video from the unit to a usb flash/hard drive or remote hard drive. You can do this using the menu from the security monitor or remotely from a web browser. Just remember that any drive that you transfer video to has to be formated as a FAT partition because of the Linux operating system on the recorder. You can save the file as an AVI that will play on any windows computer without additional software.

Is remote monitoring free?

Description states that camera output can be viewed on PC, iphone, android phones by connecting to internet. It also say that DVR can send emails when motion is detected. Is there a charge for these services?

There is no charge for any of these services from Q-See. You just need an internet connection for your PC or phone, which you probably already have. You will also need to connect the DVR to the internet through your home network.

Customer Reviews

Advanced Series 16-Channel CIF/ D1 1TB DVR (8) 700 TVL High-Res Indoor/Outdoor 100 ft. Night Vision Cameras-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from DVR did not work I purchased Q-See QT4760-852-1 on line in April to install in a new home I had under construction. I tested a few of the cameras and they worked fine, but did not check the DVR. Now I finally set up a few of the cameras and set up the DVR. With the analog RCA output it TV showed the system was initialzing and then went blank. I tried the HDMI output and it was just a screen of black/white dashed lines. Since I am past the 90 day return policy likely will need to go to manufacturer for warranty. Checking with a store today to mistake for not checking the DVR earlier. The camera video was a good quality for the ones that I checked.
