May be connected to BNC connect so it can be connected and used with remote control(included) and TV. You have to have a system to capture images, like a DVR, to record and save. Yes you can hook up to computer. Mine are connected to a DVR. Not sure if you are asking about a back up in case of power failure, though there is this yes.

Hi this is a add-on camera. You would still need to purchase a DVR unit to see remotely from a computer.

Can you control the camera pan/tilt/zoom from your computer or smart phone, or just from the DVR unit? It would be nice to be able to look around your property from a remote location. Thanks.

Answer:
The camera can be controlled over the internet with IE. I am sure there are apps for other products, but I not set that up yet. I can pan, zoom, and record from the computer and/or the DVR. I has the ability to send video or jpg to your email (3 addresses) when motion is detected so you can see your property even when you are not home.

Answer:
As far as I know, a regular PTZ controller will not work from a remote location. However, if you have a compatible DVR than it would be possible to control from your phone. Hope this helps you. If you go on QSee website, they have several downloadable apps. and of course, you would have to be hooked up to the internet as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Should have shopped around I have a Q-See recorder and fixed cameras so I thought I would add this camera to monitor a bigger area in my back yard. The original camera was never able to find it's home position-it would just keep spinning around. Q-See customer service sent me another camera very quickly and without hassle. This second camera was not new. The screws holding the dome were chewed up and the screw holes in the dome were rounded out. The night vision on this camera is maybe only 10 feet. I mounted it under the overhang of my ranch house. The tilting of the camera may be advertised to be 70 degrees but you can not tilt it to horizontal-it will not go up anymore. so if you zoom in on something you end up looking at the ground. This camera probably needs to be mounted high on a pole, which would make the night vision even worse. May 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing things these camera's can do! Manager of a mobile home park in San Bernardino, Ca, we are very pleased to have 2 Q-See cameras on our property. They are small, very clear and the capabilities are many. The price was even better, as I purchased them when they were 50% off! Very satisfied indeed. April 9, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good camera I am generally pleased with the product. Nice camera, and seems well made. I wish it had more digital zoom for the price point, but it is a nice camera. I bought it on a one day special, and probably would not recommend it at full price. Much more power can be purchased for a lot less. I will say that Q See has fantastic support and their staff is very helpful. Would recommend at lower price. April 22, 2014
