Quality DVR security camera system. Easy to get the basic setup done, with plenty of advanced options available for advanced users. I like the fact that it came with two different types of cameras.
Installation was very straightforward -- using it to cover a workshop, garage and outdoor parking area. I rely upon it and trust it. It's had 100% uptime for the entire seven months we've had it installed. Night vision coverage is, as advertised, around 80 feet. No complaints, and I like the software compared to other units we've tried.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by EnJay Average product with higher level of installation difficulty
The camera's and the DVR are good quality and fairly easy to install. It took a call and the Tech remoting in to my computer to set up the ability to see on-line - IP addresses and Porting are involved. I'm awaiting a promised email on what steps they did differently from what I had already set up to tie it together to make it work. The Cell phone viewing capability is now on it's second call to Support. This is not for novices to install. The actual install of the camera's does require some work in the attic to run the connections.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bobc Good hardware, not so good online link(s)
Once I ran the wires the system worked fine at the monitor. Have not tried searching past recordings, so can't comment on that. Trying to view online so far has been impossible. Q-see has way too many websites that you have to interact with. Or maybe you don't have to interact with them, I can't tell. After hours of frustration I used the insta chat link and found out I had the wrong documents for my system. That should be arriving UPS at some time. My system was made 10-13, bought it 1-15. Must be why HD had it on special. Q-see.com does not show a QC-524, which is what I have. The cell phone app works fine, but not the tablet. And maybe when the right docs show up I view on my lap top.

Cameras and Unit were very easy to set up. The remote viewing from another computer, with email alerts etc.... is kind of technical, but the Q-See support team is extremely helpful in solving issues for us less technically challenged.

Q-SEE Premium Series 4-Channel 500GB Real-Time Recording DVR with (4) Hi-Res 960H 700 TVL Cameras, 80 ft. Night Vision:
This is a high quality complete system that is very easy and simple to install and use. It comes with everything you need to wire up the 4 cameras and connect them to the DVR. The packaging is great and all parts and components are well protected for shipping and handling.
- DVR with 500GB Hard Drive & 4 Channels
- 2 x Dome Cameras
- 2 x Bullet Style Cameras
- 4 x 60ft cables for the Cameras
- Power Adapter & Cable for the DVR
- HDMI Cable
- Warning Stickers (3 languages)
- Catalogs & Quick Start Guides
- CD ROM
I took some pictures of all items after unboxing. I hope these pics help you better understand what I'm talking about.
I did not install the complete system as the weather hasn't allowed me yet! But I tested 1 camera with the DVR and connection to my TV through HDMI. Installation and setup was simple enough for any DIYer to install. I'm an electrical engineer so I had absolutely no issues. The picture quality is great during daytime and is acceptable at night. Night mode really works but I am planning to try using an LED security flood light next to the camera to see how that impacts picture quality. I have not tested all the options and the use of apps yet.
The only disadvantage IMO is that the system is not expandable as the DVR is 4 channels. But if you plan your installation and get the angles right, this should be enough for most residential applications.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JReed A great system!
My only issue with this system is that I wish I got more cameras! For the price, I thought I'd have buyers remorse but after I got it all set up (which was EXTREMELY easy) I knew I had made the right choice. The DVR has plenty of space and it works well.
The instructions are very clear on how to set up. and the packaging is engineered perfectly for shipping so no need to fear that things will be broken when you open them. It came with 2 dome cameras and 2 bullet cameras and they all record in the same quality and its astonishing how nice the quality really is for such a simple security system.
I have a small property on a street that is not lit the best with street lights, this gave me great peace of mind to make sure no one was messing with my things, night or day. The night vision is really pretty cool. It works fairly decently (better than I was expecting). Oh and the camera's are indoor/outdoor, and they've handled some pretty tough Texas winds and rain storms without an issue.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Steve Inexpensive camera system that works well
I live in a very rural area but I've had some items go-missing from my property so I was excited when this system showed up at my door. The "Quick Set-Up Guide" said to verify everything shipped by referring to the "What's in the Box" checklist. There was no checklist. I began the installation, as per the set-up guide, and realized the BNC to RCA cable needed to connect the DVR to a TV was missing. The HDMI cable was there but the TV I wanted to use didn't support HDMI. Further inspection also revealed the VGA to VGA cable needed to connect the DVR to a PC monitor was also missing. An email to customer support got the missing cables on the way. NOTE: Although the set-up guide shows the VGA cable installation option, customer support said the cable is not part of the package even though the set-up guide doesn't say it's optional. To their credit they sent me a VGA cable. Once I had all the necessary parts the installation was quick and easy. The instructions are easy to follow and the whole system is Plug and Play. I have no need for remote access so I can't comment on that feature. I'm very impressed with the picture resolution for such an inexpensive system. Night-vision is clear and the wiring supplied was long enough for my needs. But for the missing parts, I would have given this system five stars. BTW, customer support was handled via email and all my questions were responded to within a day. I would have no problem dealing with this company again.
