Product Overview

Q-SEE's 960H surveillance system, the QC524-4K2-5, offers a recorded video image that is over 30% larger than D1 and over 500% larger than CIF resolution, providing a recording resolution that further closes the gap between the high definition resolution of expensive state-of-the-art systems and the conventional resolution of analog systems. The outstanding recording resolution isn't the only noteworthy feature of this security DVR. With an array of remote monitoring features, this DVR keeps you connected even when you're away. Monitor from a compatible smart phone or tablet, and check in on the system when you're at work or just on the go. This multi-tasking DVR can even send out email alerts when motion is detected or a camera loses video. Coupled with 900 TVL cameras, monitoring your surroundings have never been easier or clearer. High quality image sensors and LED's allow each camera to provide color accurate images during the day and bright black and white images during the night.

Answer:
Hardwired, and no, they are not wireless. There are two cables that run to each camera, one to deliver power, and one to transmit the signal.

Answer:
This one is hard wired from the cameras to the dvr. One of the positives about wired, you don't have to climb up ladders to change batteries. The drawback is that you have to run the wires.

Hi these cameras are wired they would need to be plugged into a power source, then to the DVR to transmit the data.
The DVR would then need to plugged into a monitor to view recordings or remote monitoring can be viewed from computer, or smartphone ipad etc.

Answer:
Each of the cameras require about 3 screws each. They are small and pretty easy to install. All 4 cameras are rated for exterior use. I put mine under the eaves so they don't get covered with snow and less raindrops on the lenses.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Q-SEE support I purchased a 4 channel surveillance system QT 5682 almost 2 years ago (similar to the one above) and had it professionally installed. Absolutely love it. Have been able to keep an eye on our property while out of town, including two weeks in Rome on cell phone and tablet. Monitor on every day while at home. I am writing this review to comment on the excellent support we received from Q-SEE, when nearly two years into the warranty we developed loss of video from one of the cameras. Problem solved with the help of technical staff who lead me through the process of identifying what the problem was - one of the cables needs to be replaced. I found e-mailing questions worked best for me. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy and quick set up Took me less than 1 hour to set up and use. picture quality from cameras very good great price great buy February 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Quality yet Simple! Q-SEE Premium Series 4-Channel 500GB Real-Time Recording DVR with (4) Hi-Res 960H 700 TVL Cameras, 80 ft. Night Vision: This is a high quality complete system that is very easy and simple to install and use. It comes with everything you need to wire up the 4 cameras and connect them to the DVR. The packaging is great and all parts and components are well protected for shipping and handling. What's included: - DVR with 500GB Hard Drive & 4 Channels - 2 x Dome Cameras - 2 x Bullet Style Cameras - 4 x 60ft cables for the Cameras - Power Adapter & Cable for the DVR - Mouse - HDMI Cable - Warning Stickers (3 languages) - Catalogs & Quick Start Guides - CD ROM I took some pictures of all items after unboxing. I hope these pics help you better understand what I'm talking about. I did not install the complete system as the weather hasn't allowed me yet! But I tested 1 camera with the DVR and connection to my TV through HDMI. Installation and setup was simple enough for any DIYer to install. I'm an electrical engineer so I had absolutely no issues. The picture quality is great during daytime and is acceptable at night. Night mode really works but I am planning to try using an LED security flood light next to the camera to see how that impacts picture quality. I have not tested all the options and the use of apps yet. The only disadvantage IMO is that the system is not expandable as the DVR is 4 channels. But if you plan your installation and get the angles right, this should be enough for most residential applications. Recommended product! January 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by wasted my money! I know why it was 60 % off If you have a small house this is a ok deal. larger home you have to buy longer cables and you have to crawl in the attic if you have room in order to hide the cables on the outside of the home. not recommended for everyone. January 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great product but no customer service We are installers for security systems, installed lots of Q-See and other brands. This camera surveillance system is very decent quality problem is the bad tech support level. They do not know how to resolve their system issues. The worse is the remote cell app. It is one of the worse ever, Just read the reviews for the QSee App and decide. November 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hardware, not so good online link(s) Once I ran the wires the system worked fine at the monitor. Have not tried searching past recordings, so can't comment on that. Trying to view online so far has been impossible. Q-see has way too many websites that you have to interact with. Or maybe you don't have to interact with them, I can't tell. After hours of frustration I used the insta chat link and found out I had the wrong documents for my system. That should be arriving UPS at some time. My system was made 10-13, bought it 1-15. Must be why HD had it on special. Q-see.com does not show a QC-524, which is what I have. The cell phone app works fine, but not the tablet. And maybe when the right docs show up I view on my lap top. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy with my purchase! Absolutely love the cameras! Clear video even at night. Our only problem has been getting the cameras to load onto the computer, ipad and cell phone. I had my son who works for NASA come by to get them started which did well for the first week until I had an update load to both the ipad and iPhone. Have not been able to get the cameras to load since then. Have never been able to load the cameras to the computer. No big deal as I really just wanted it on my phone. I am very happy with our purchase and will wait until my son has the time to come by again to get the cameras to work with my cell phone. I would expect a person will be on the cameras help line quite a bit unless you have a NASA employee in your family or someone who is very tech savvy !!! May 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average product with higher level of installation difficulty The camera's and the DVR are good quality and fairly easy to install. It took a call and the Tech remoting in to my computer to set up the ability to see on-line - IP addresses and Porting are involved. I'm awaiting a promised email on what steps they did differently from what I had already set up to tie it together to make it work. The Cell phone viewing capability is now on it's second call to Support. This is not for novices to install. The actual install of the camera's does require some work in the attic to run the connections. February 10, 2015
