In order to access your DVR remotely, you must connect it to a router or a modem. Using a router allows you to connect to your DVR from other computers on your LAN (Local Area Network) in addition to over the Web. Directly connecting to a modem makes your DVR available for connection through the Internet only.

It is a 960H DVR, it records at 960H play back resolution and the camera is also Hi-res @ 700TVL..

Hi we do have extension cable that you can add please see below model numbers. I would recommend you getting the 100ft. cable to be able to use it for your detached garage.

This unit does not come with a monitor but you can hook up this unit to a 19" monitor or larger using the HDMI output on the back of the DVR.
