Customer Questions & Answers

Can this portable wet tile saw be used with the "Ryobi Tile Saw Stand" ??

After reading almost all of the reviews for this product, I'm considering purchasing this for my floor tile project. The price is within my budget too! I will be tiling my back bathroom floor hopefully in the coming months and wanted to know if this wet tile saw can be used with that stand? The tile size that I'll be cutting is 13" x 13" ceramic tile. The bathroom floor isn't that large, so I doubt that I'll be making a lot of cuts. Another person commented on using a "jigsaw" with a diamond blade, to make other types of cuts. I would also like to know if using the jigsaw can make the "rounded" cuts that will be needed for installation of the toilet? Everything in this back bathroom is getting replaced except the bathroom window. I'll put this item on my "wish list" until I receive a reply from you. I already have several items on my wish list for this project and have already purchased the light fixture. I watched the people that tiled my hallway bathroom in 2010, so that I would be able to do the back bathroom myself. I've done a few "DIY" projects before and always do my "homework" before I tackle any "DIY" project. Hope to hear from you soon! Thank you! :)

This saw is not for your job. The horsepower of this saw is only 1/3 hp and you should consider something around 3/4 hp or greater due to the large size of your tiles. If you try using this saw, it's going to take forever to get your cuts done and the table support area is smaller than your tiles so getting straight cuts will also be a challenge. Good luck with your project, I just finished mine.

when will this tile cutter be available?

Asked by: Anonymous
This is a question Home Depot should have answered but here's the deal: the saw is available now but is only available through an online purchase. I received mine in about two days from the day I ordered it. I don't know if it was the alignment of the stars or something but the order was shipped and received in no time. Brian

glass tiles?

Has anyone used this saw to cut glass mosaic tiles?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello and thank you for your question. I haven't used this particular one no.From my experience almost any wet saw will work on the mosaic tile.Trick is to use a blade for glass tiles, these blades are a lot thinner than the ones that are normally supplied with the saw for ceramic tile. Hope this helps.

Customer Reviews

1/3 HP, 120 Volt Direct-Drive Motor, Portable Wet Tile Saw with 4 in. Diamond Blade-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good performance for low price I bought this tile cutter to use in installing 6X6 ceramic tiles as backsplash, etc in the kitchen. At approx $50 I was willing to buy it for this project - at a likely lower price than renting. Because of the water spray that I had read about in other reviews I used it outside so that the spray was no problem. I used it to make straight cuts removing 1/4" to 1" from tiles. It cut well, taking less than 30 sec to make the 6" long cut. It was necessary to rinse the ceramic dust off the cutting top at intervals. I had read in reviews that the cutting guide could be difficult to lock in place, but found that if I cleaned the ceramic dust from the guide notches on the cutting surface and on the underside of the cutting guide there was not a problem. I was very pleased with how well this inexpensive wet saw performed. (I used a ceramic cutting blade in an electric jig saw for all other cuts.)

I am totally pleased with everthing I get from Home Depot

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for small jobs! I used the tile saw when doing a bathroom floor, and it worked great. It is the perfect saw for small jobs and it was a great price. It is very lightweight and easy to use. The removeable straight edge made it easy to adjust and make sure you got the straight cut you are wanting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4" Portable tile saw with water system This is a Great little saw, I pushed its suggested limits by cutting 1/2" x 18" sq. Travestine tile with it, with patients it cut a good line. The nice part was that I could start and stop when ever and didn't have to worry about rental times and fees.I saved much more than the cost of the saw. I used it to fit tile in an Entry, a Hallway, a Bathroom and a Laundry Rm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from terrific value I've just spent four days cutting tiles for a DIY tiling project, and I must say that this little saw has really delivered for me. it is a real workhorse, cutting through the thickest tiles with ease. I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absolutely wonderful...so far! Well, at this price, I wasn't sure what to expect - I'd seen diamond blades alone cost what I paid for the entire shebang, so I had my doubts. But it was easy to assemble (essentially just blade installation with a wing-nut), and it worked simply and beautifully for the few cuts I had to make. I'll be curious to see how it holds up over the long-haul, but it certainly is a great size for storage in our tiny condo, so I intend to have it for a while. I doubt it would hold up to any industrial-sized usage, but for smaller do-it-yourself? Yep, it works just fine for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantastic tile cutter for the price I recently tiled my bathroom tub surround and window. I had to cut dozens of 6 x 6 and a few 12 x 3 porclain ceramic tiles for the window and corners, even 90 degree cuts by hand. This little saw worked like a champ! It's not super fast, but gets the job done. It cleans out easy with a hose outside on the lawn. Make sure to dry the blade after cleaning, I forgot once and saw a bit of rust on the blade. (it still cut fine)The guide snaps into place with tiny increements. I was able to shave off 1/8" from tiles when I came to the top and had slight alignment problems. Highly suggested for small to medium tile jobs, for large industrial tile jobs get a bigger saw.
