Answer:
I do not think this would work on glass as you would probably need a diamond cutting wheel. Works well on ceramic and porcelain

You can definitely cut ceramic and porcelain with this cutter. It cuts perfectly. I would not recommend cutting glass with this however.

Small cuts such as cutting notches for tight corners or doorways, or would that require an electric tile cutter? If not, is there something similar to hand pliers that is made for cutting/notching tile?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tile cutter Works very well on ceramic floor tile. Angle guage is off by 5 degrees. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really helped get the tile job done quicker This tile cutter is ready to use out of the box and does a great job quickly cutting even the 12x24 tiles for the bath . June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product A must have for any tiling project. Easy to use with a very short learning curve. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 24" Tile Cutter I needed something to cut 24" tiles. Local rental place only had 18" cutters which was expensive to rent and wet saws (too messy). For less then $100 I figured it was worth a chance since the rental for the 18" was $24 a day. I was very surprised about how well the cutter was built and sturdy. It cut tiles perfectly. Sure I broke some, but that was my fault and not the cutters. Over all I think this will last me for a long time. As you can see in the picture, a perfect cut on a 24" tile with one pass. I have cut maybe 40 tiles in my life and this is very easy to use. January 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by truly a professional tile cutter This is a well-made professional tile cutter. It is convenient and much less expensive than a wet saw. It is a quality product that can be used for straight and angled cuts. A diagonal cutting guide is included and can be attached to the tile cutter. The glide moves easily and the wheel scores and snips the tile very cleanly. My husband was able to cut all the tile needed for his project without issue. He said that this machine is not designed for tiny cuts or for combination cuts. Otherwise, this is a perfect tool for most any tile job. He also has a tile rubbing stone. This is used if there should be a small fragment left on the scored and cut tile. He never had to use it during his project with this tool. Very nice product. January 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good porcelain cutter Well built tool. I cut 12 x 24 porcelain tiles with some angles. Sometimes clipped the corner, but otherwise worked very well. I would buy again. June 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High quality Tile Cutter I just remodeled my bathroom and I did the tiling myself. This tile cutter is so nice. I started with a different tile cutter before switching to this one. This tile cutter makes the edges cut so much cleaner plus this is 24 inches rather than just 14 inch. The score slide is smooth. I also did not have any problems with the tile not breaking along the score mark (unlike the other cutter I used which I often had that problem) I’m not sure what they’ve done different. Maybe they’ve just made the cutter more ridged or maybe it’s how the structure pushes on the tile to get it to break along the score line. Either way I love it. I have allowed my Brother-n-law to borrow it. He’s a contractor and does bathroom remodels often. He really likes it as well and says it is a professional quality product. I have included several pictures. I recommend this product. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Machine I bought this for a bathroom project after not being able to find the one I had from years ago. This machine is unbelievable. Quick and easy. I've made miter cuts on bullnose edging and cut 3/4" slices off of ceramic wall tile. Straight and minimal chipping. I did break the first wall tile I cut but only because I used the same pressure on the score that I used on the heavier floor tile cuts. I'm just amazed at how easy this machine cuts. I would definitely recommend this to any DIY'er. March 31, 2016
