The straps have what seems to be a durable latch mechanism. Pad compression and strap or latch failure seems to the the weak points with knee pads. I have only used them a couple of times. So far there is no indication that the pad material will suffer premature compression. These are light enough that they seem to stay up on the knee fairly well when a person needs to walk around some. Four star rating? : At $20 they are not cheap. If they will last 2 or 3 years with home use; I'll figure they were worth the money.

They are light and do stay on your knees and are fairly comfortable in shorts but there are better brands out there that are about $15 more and well worth the price as they offer better padding and behind the knee comfort if you are planning on spending 12 plus hours on your knees tiling.

The pad material is made from a soft durable material that will not marr or scratch delicate wood floors. I wear loose jeans and the pads tend to turn a bit but then all pads tend to do the same thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good for the price. These were a lifesaver for installing hardwoods throughout my house. They do pinch a little at the back of your knees over time, but switching from jeans to sweats fixed that problem. I'm not sure how well they would hold up over time, but it worked great for my needs.

While the cushioning value of these knee pads is good, the straps do not keep them in place very well, and the soft rubber facing, while probably intended to give "traction" actually add grip that is not helpful when trying to move around while working on your knees.
