Customer Reviews

Undercut and Jamb Saw with High Carbon-Steel Blade is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from does what it is supposed to do manual jamb saw, saves the high price of a power tool. Have cut 8 jambs so far, and no issues. Doesn't cut through nails, or staples, but those are easy enough to remove once you run into them. Teeth still seem sharp enough to not chew up the boards. Not as precise in cramped spaces, but I'm happy with it. If I did this for a living I'd want a power tool, but this is perfect for occasional use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saw Great saw. I found it works quite well just make sure that you do not hit any nails in the jam with it. It will dull the blade quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Tool This saw cuts both ways and seems to glide thru the door jamb I had to cut. This is probably a better alternative to a jamb saw that I rented on the last project.

This saw should have an available handle that screws into the forward stud (after removing the wing nut) that would give the saw more stability when sawing. The one handle does not offer this stability. I would pay for that additional handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right tool for the job! This is no doubt the right tool for cutting the bottom of door jamb for flooring installation. I had 18 door jambs to cut; and this saw made the job much easier and well worth the cost. I tried to cut the first door jamb with a regular saw by bending the blade (while waiting for this saw to arrive), while it's doable, it was much more difficult cutting with one hand pushing down on the saw blade to make a flat cut. With this saw you can push/pull the saw with both hands (much less tiring). One suggestion for possible improvement: The saw tooth is a bit too coarse; while the cut is fast, it is a bit on the rough side with places the wood breaks out as you pull on the saw, especially around the corners. However this is a minor issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from undercut saw When making a cut allowing for difference in floor height after install of new flooring (I.e., ceramic, laminate, etc.) this saw was exactly the right tool for adjusting door jambs.
