Answer: 
Yes this is the type of tool that is used to remove composite shingles from a roof but it is definitely not the proper size for the job.
Model 2563 / 22-1/2" shingle remover is basically a clean up tool primarily used to finish up the job in tight areas where the larger shingle removers are not effective.
My suggestion would be to use either of our model numbers 2560 / 54" or 2570 / 47-1/2" shingle

My suggestion would be to use either of our model numbers 2560 / 54" or 2570 / 47-1/2" shingle shovels to remove the bulk of the roofing material and then use the smaller model 2563 for the final clean up.
