I wanted the safest jack available, but something reasonable. This product fullfilled my needs. I particularly like the idea of having three supports (rather than two) available to secure on the ladder rungs. The jacks are easy to use and they fold up for storage. They can be used on the outside or the inside of the ladder. I feel more comfortable using them on the inside (the work side). I set the jacks on my two ladders and used a 2 X 12 X 10 and a 2 X 6 X 10 as a base platform. Then I laid a piece of 1/2 OSB on top for additional rigidity. I generally spaced the ladders about 6 - 7 feet apart. Obviously, always remain between the ladders; don't step on the part of the platform that projects outside the ladders. As can be seen in the picture, I was able to easily work on the second floor of the house. The only concern I have with the jacks is the weight limit. It says 250 pounds and I don't know if that means you can distribute 500 pounds on the two of them (250# each??) or if they are only safe with 250 pounds total. I weigh 175# and would like the option of having a second person on the scaffold.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JonH Nice ladder jack, but....
2 of the 3 jack rails do not fit exactly. The top rail sets on the ladder rung as expected. The second is about 1/2" above the ladder rung and the third is about 3/4" above the third ladder rung. Is this the correct way the ladder jack sets on the Ladder? See attached pic.
I have a new Werner ladder that is recommended for this jack.

A well built, sturdy, easy to use alternative to scaffolding. Fit a standard extension ladder and my gorilla folding ladder. Was very stable platform. Was able to make a 14" wide platform to fit, could have made it wider if needed.
