Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent stove for the price Considering it was the lowest priced, 36" sealed burner gas stove top we could find, it's good for what it is however, it's a bit soon to say for certain and there are a couple cons. First is the way the stove ignites. There appears to be a "sweet spot" when trying to get the stove to ignite. If you don't turn the dial enough, you hear the clicking but not enough gas to ignite... Turn it too far and the igniter stops but the gas is on *full blast with no flame*... This could be a potentially serous safety hazard for someone like my elderly mother; who this stove was for. I could easily see her not paying full attention and turning the gas on full blast with no flame.. then walking away for several minutes. And if the phone happens to ring at that moment, she could easily be out of the room long enough for it to fill with gas. ...This worries me. We didn't get to actually try out any other stoves when shopping, so for all I know, this is a standard feature these days. The other issue is the grate distance from the flame. Our old stove got hotter faster, even though this one has a bigger flame and is suppose to put out more BTUs. As a result, the kettle takes several mins more to boil, even on the so called "heavy duty" burner. And pans take longer to heat up when frying. I suppose these are things to get used to.
