Product Overview

This Quick Connect fitting incorporates stainless steel gripping teeth in it's collect. These corrosion resistant teeth allow these fittings to interconnect with multiple materials without the need for special tools or tube inserts. After a joint is made, the tubing can still swivel while connected, even under maximum pressure.

Customer Reviews

Quick Connect 1/4 in. Plastic Straight Valve is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Agree with past reviews Should have read the reviews prior to purchase, but who would figure something this simple would be such garbage? My 15 y/o GE Profile was leaking somewhere along the water inlet for the ice maker. Replaced the solenoid (inlet valve), and tubing to and from the solenoid. But just to avoid always running down the to basement to shut off the water, I figured I'd put in a mid-run shut-off valve behind the fridge. Very easy to put in place. Turned on the water, got my ice, but the next day I noticed a pool of water under the refrigerator again. Was that stupid valve...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought 3, both all leaked. Installed three, all leaked from the valve stem. Lesson learned. I installed a Watts Reverse osmosis system that all quick connections. That had leak problems of its own. In tapping the output to include the fridge for ice maker and the humidifier, the valve first leaked from the connection, then the stem so I replaced it. The replacement leaked from the stem. After my furnace was replaced, I routed my tubing to the humidifier and opened the last valve, and it leaks from the stem also. That makes 100% failure rate for 3 valves. The only Pro is it did not leak when turned off, except when the inlet connection would not seat. I replaced all my valves with Brass fittings, including connectors and tees.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Turned a simple project into a disaster Installation was a snap for the RO system however these connectors leaked. I re-cut tubing, ensured clean cuts and full insertion but inevitably one or two out of 6 or so would leak. Then drain the system, rework and still no success. Replaced with a new part and continued to have minor drips. Highly unreliable. Another manufacturer makes one with a double o-ring...theoretically it would be more reliable but it was not available at any local stores. Currently have the water off to the fridge and RO system and will continue to drag this project out as it is a long trip to the hardware store. Workaround idea if you need to use these, buy 3 times what you need and return the extras and the ones that didn't work when you are done....saves many trips although it is still a waste of effort and aggravation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks from stem Bought this while at the store. Installed it in the off position and it was ok. turned the water on and it started leaking from the stem. After going online to look for a replacement I see all these reviews. I can confirm them 6/25/15

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small thing, big use. I picked up this 1/4 inch in line valve from Home Depot, along with a Watts 1/4 inch TEE connector to connect my over the counter water filter, and the performance was amazing. I cut the polyethylene tubing behind the Refrigerator and connected the Tee connector and from there connected the polyethylene tubing, and then the quick connect straight valve. From there I connected the over the counter water filter. My purpose of this project was that I do not have to move the fridge any more to turn off the water to water filter for servicing. I can turn it off at the water filter. It has been 3 months now, and I never had a leak or any other problems. I enjoy the project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought one of these for a fridge water supply shut off. Leaked out the top when closed and open.... Bought one of these for a fridge water supply shut off. Leaked out the top when closed and open. Took it back for another one and the 2nd one leaked as well. Get a brass version instead and save yourself a trip back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from installed 2 and both leaked from stem. junk These need to be recalled and redesigned. They all leak at the stem. To top things off they are extremely expensive and for that price or less i can get brass. I wont buy these again. Had two leak recently and had forgotten about another that leaked a year back.
