This cleaner serves its purpose very well. I had seen a number of other cleaners, but chose this one because it came with the long handle. That made it easy to reach the fans from the ground. We have one in our MBR that is mounted about 13 feet off the floor on a vaulted ceiling - this reaches it easily. Each season we reverse the fans to move the air upward (winter) and downward (summer). Everytime, the dust that has clung to the top of the blades suddenly goes flying everywhere! We try to remember to climb up on the ladder and vacuum the blades, but don't always. With this handy cleaner, it's part of our normal cleaning routine, and the blades get cleaned once a month - top and bottom. The microfibers pick up the dest very well and the shape of the tool fits right over the blades, making it a good clean each time. Well worth it!
The one thing that wasn't so good about it was the shipping. It came in a long box that had tape all over it and had been beaten up pretty bad. When I finally got through all the tape, the tool, with the full handle attached, was standing in the box with just some packing/butcher paper folded up in the box with it - not really packed in the box, but just kind of laying in the box. It didn't provide any padding, didn't prevent the tool from rattling around or getting dinged up in the box. So the packaging could definitely be improved.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JoeEee HIt it with a spritz of Endust and it's just about perfect.
Here in Sunny SoCal where we experience 85-degree-plus days every month, our ceiling fans get a lot of use and accumulate a lot of dust.
This fan cleaner gives me a safe steady reach to get the dust and other schmutz off the blades. The material is fairly grabby but to turn it into a real dust and dirt magnet I lightly spray it with a shot of Endust. The result: dust clings even better instead of being swept to the floor.
Its only real drawback is that the head isn't washer-safe, so even with a thorough wringing after washing, it can take a day or two to dry.

The microfiber ceiling fan cleaner grabs everything, I mean everything! With one swipe from the base of the fan to the end of the blade; it grabs everything - no need to go through again for another swipe. Since the microfiber works so well - not sure how else to clean it under than throwing it in the washer and dryer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CaptBill Perfect for Cleaning that Overhead Fan or Lights
Kind of looks like something someone put "together" which you really didn't need. But, it really does a great job, and my spouse (5'2") can extend it and reach fan, without calling me. Or worse, climbing up on a chair, in the dining room or bedroom, risking a fall.
I don't need (6') to extend it quite as far, but it is still useful and handy. Collapses enough that it is also useful in the camper; the fan there is 'just out of reach,' and this works well on it.
We've also found it works well on overhead recessed lights (cathedral ceiling), as well as lights on the side of the building, which needed a ladder to reach in the past.
Collapses down for storage, works well, and it really IS a product you can use around the house. So it wasn't 'over engineered,' but it quite useful.

With feet planted firmly on terra-firma, this clever housekeeping helper reaches and slides right over each individual fan blade to remove dust from top and bottom in one swipe. It takes a little practice to get the right angle, but once I figured it out, it was a breeze.
If you haven't dusted fans in a long time, initially expect a bit of a dusty shower. But, once it's a regular habit, the micro-fiber mop head is more than capable of containing dust particles. When soiled, simply rinse with cold water and air-dry. Ready to go again with no additional investment for disposable "heads".
The telescoping handle expands to a generous 5-1/2 feet. Added to my arm length, I can reach fan blades suspended as high as 12-feet! After wiping the blades, I can still reach up and get the top of the motor, all without pulling out a step-stool and balancing precariously!
And, it's not just for fans! It's handy for hard-to-reach crown molding, cabinet tops and most cob-webs, however the micro-fiber yarns snag a bit on finishes that are not ultra-smooth (otherwise, it would have been a 5-star rating).

Doesn't do what description claimed. Dust flying all over the place.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by parttimehack Wished I'd thought of this
Clever idea, in the past I used a traditional feather duster or have removed the blades and washed them in the past on my former ceiling fans. I have new ceiling fans now. This mop is very convenient to use and cleaning is minor washing and hang drying. I rated the appearance as good as it doesn't look like a toy as in some past mail-order. The handle appears to be rigid enough such that it would not crimp.

I am very pleased with this product. My fan cleaners were in great need of replacements. This one surpasses my expectations. I've got ceiling fans all over the place and the easier they are to clean just makes life a whole lot better for me. The cleaner arrived fully assembled which is a great plus. I am totally thrilled with my new fan cleaner and would gladly recommend it for minor as well as major cleaning.
