Customer Questions & Answers

why not mount in bathroom? our bathroom is 175 sq ft with cathedral ceiling and we need a bigger more powerful vent.

Asked by: becca
I don't see why not . All bathroom shut have good air circulation, Prevent from mold and moisture build up. Small fan with light don't work as well. I do recommend fan in this similar size.

Why does the QT300 cost only 5 dollars more?

Just wondering why the QT200 costs about the same as the QT300. Any theories? I'm thinking it's the sone rating, but many here say it's not that loud.

Please contact Home Depot Customer Service directly. Broan-Nutone does not set the selling price for this fan.

I still don't understand why you can't mount it over a shower enclosure?

I want the fan to dry out the excess moisture that turns to mold. That excess moisture is in the shower. Why does the Nu Pro insist that it be mounted a few feet away from the shower enclosure?
Asked by: PW
Thank you for your question. Our exhaust fans are submitted to U.L. for approval on many aspects of the product. This model is not U.L. approved for inside the tub/shower enclosure. To install it in this manner would be considered an incorrect installation. We offer many other exhaust fans that are approved for inside the enclosure, but not the QT200. A faulty installation will void the warranty. If you would like to speak with our Technical Support Department, please dial 888-336-6151. Thank you.

Customer Reviews

Quiet Test Ventilator 200 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Fan is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Bath Vent We wanted a bath vent that could handle a large bathroom. Most are up to 110 CFM, and not rated for a bathroom as large as we have. We've had a mildew problem, so we wanted something powerful. Our concern was the noise. Most of the 110 CFM models are under 1 sone, but this is 2 sones. We thought it might be too loud. We have been very pleased. It works really well, and is comfortably quiet. We hooked it up to an intermatic switch so that it goes off automatically. We just crank the switch when we get in the shower, and the room is fog-free when we get out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!! AAA+++ This fan moves air and is super quiet! I have zero regrets about installing this fan in my bathroom. We have several children and the fan is very quiet since the bedrooms surround it. I would recommend this fan to anyone serious about moving air and keeping down the sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet, powerful, well-designed Installation was straight-forward and without surprises. It was interesting how this ventilator was configurable for upward exhaust or side exhaust without extra parts or extra installation steps --- indicative of a great design, in this engineer's humble opinion. Don't consider a smaller-capacity ventilator. 200 CFM is what you need to blow that vile stink out of the John after a healthy number two. Add a countdown timer wall switch, and you'll be the envy of the neighborhood do-it-yourselfers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very quiet! This fan was very easy to install and is extremely quiet for the amount of air movement it puts out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did just what I needed it for! I bought this fan after having the similar one with a light in my bathroom. I had this installed in my husbands computer room above his desk to take away the smoke and it works perfectly! My home no longer smells like smoke!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what it looks like For one thing their website says the housing is enamel painted- it is not. The damper flap/ housing is very flimsy,it kept falling out 10 times, even after installed, and it was almost impossible to put it back in. It's supposed to be 2 Sonnes, sounds like 4. This one QT200 is a 200CFM I also bought another fan for smaller room, the QTXEN150C which is 150CFM, they are both vented outside next to each other. When their both on at same time the 150 blows more air than the 200CFM Their both about same price QT200 is supposed to be more powerfully but little louder, QTXEN150C is less powerfully but quieter, way more quieter. The QT200 rattles and sounds tinny even though it has sound deadening foam which QTXEN150C does not. The QT200 has a very flimsy cover that won't sit flat on ceiling, and yes mine is flat. The cover is bowed and connects in middle where it should connect on each end. Also the QTXEN150C was missing the brackets to hang on trusses. I used a different method. I would remove it and return it but then I would have to patch the ceiling, is it all worth it.
