Does this install above wall (flush) or inside wall box (recessed)?

I plan to install but I cannot tell if this flush mounts on wall or if I should install outlet box in wall and then install this inside that outlet box (so panel is flush with wall instead of proud to wall). If installed inside a box, will it fit in single or double-outlet size box and does it require special face-plate?

Answer:
This is mounted in an box, it will not be flush with the wall and will stick out about 3/4 of an inch. It is intended for a single box. For a double box you will have to get creative for a face plate

I have two sections in a remodel that have 2 heat films and 4 heat films that are not able to be connected from one under floor heat film to the next. I would like to only use one thermostat to control each section (1=2 heat films and 1=4 heat films). Is it possible to connect each of the heated sections to one thermostat?

Thanks!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A must have for a heated floor If you have a heated floor this thermostat is a no brainer. Instead of an on/off switch or a timer, this thermostat will give you so much versatility. The 2 biggest advantages of this are energy efficiency and convenience The thermostat will keep a more consistent heat as well and prevent wasted energy when you are away With numerous program options, you're able to set the floor heat to be on when you enter the shower in the morning. I used this in a basement bathroom application directly over a concrete floor and it really takes the chill out of the floor. July 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Very nice looking thermostat for use with raidiant heat film for floating wood or tile floors. Nice display, good feel,on the control buttons. The thermostat probe wire is a little thick and the underlayment will need to be slotted to fit properly if your using this with the manufactures film mat. Fits into a single box in accordance with floor mat requirements. Max load is 15 amps at 1800 watts. Built in GFCI 4 event timer July 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use, completely adjustable I picked this up to replace a hard to use unit that came with my guest bathroom’s heated floors. Adjusting the old one when our schedule changed (i.e. family over for Christmas, mother in law visiting etc) was a bear. The new unit is simply faboo and here’s why: • Easy to use – clear intuitive display with lots of options • Clear display – Easy to see current temp, set temp, time, if floor is actively heating etc • Easy install – Installation took less than 10 minutes and it doesn't sit as deep as my last controller so things didn't feel crammed getting it back into the wall. • Safety features - Built in GFCI (in case water finds electricity) and child lock (toddler proof!) • Easy Scheduling – Lets you set a weekday/weekend schedule or even a schedule for each day of the week. Perfect for us since the wife stays home 2 days a week to be with our toddler. • Extra adjustments – I almost gave 2 stars since it was off by 10 degrees from the actual temp. However, you can adjust the temperature readout by up to 18 degrees Fahrenheit (ours was off by 10 degrees from the get go) Only thing that needs more attention is the instructions. It’s bare bones. Apparently others got a mini-cd to help out, but my box didn’t have one. March 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Heated Underlayment Thermostat! The MP Global Products heated underrlayment electronic programmable thermostat with floor sensor is a very well conceived and functional product. The thermostat has a built in ground fault circuit interrupter and can be used at 120V or 240 V. It is designed to flush mount in a wall socket. The unit has a 4-event programmable timer, and the temperature control can be switched between degrees Celcius and Fahrenheit. It keeps the temperature at a steady level and maintains a minimum temperature for long absences. The safety extra low voltage makes the thermostat safe and energy star rated. Even though the instructions are very thorough, I recommend installation by a qualified electrician. A highly recommended, high quality product.. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice warm floor. When I built my new bathroom in my basement I included a QuietWarmth underlayment film. This QuietWarmth 7-Day Programmable Thermostat works great in combination. The floor is very nice to step out of the shower and feel the warmth. It heats the room also. We have it set to come on an hour before We get out of bed and it is just on for an hour while we bathe and get ready for the day. I wish I had installed this combination when I remodeled our other bathroom. June 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Thermostat, Instructions could be better for DIY I'm still in the process of setting up my thermostat and Quiet Warmth radiant heat panels. It's great that the thermostat is specifically made for the roll of Quiet Warmth. The product installation itself is fairly straightforward. However, if you are adding this to an existing room, you'll need to be prepared to set up (or hire an electrician to set up) a new junction box for the thermostat. I have it hooked up and powered, but haven't finished connecting it to the floor panel with wires yet. Not going to be easy to run a conduit through existing walls to hold the connecting wires, but I'll figure it out. I'm looking forward to toasty toes in our bathroom! I love that it can be programmed for 7 days, too. Waking up in the morning just got a little bit easier! April 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent thermostat for heated underlayment This thermostat is the perfect companion to my QuietWarmth Floating Floor Heated Underlayment in my bathroom. It was extremely easy to install using the included easy to follow installation CD. I was impressed with the built in GFCI safety feature. The programmable settings are very useful, allowing differences in the floor temperatures. Nice sleek design goes with any decor. Since installing, I have been very happy with this thermostat. I have had no difficulties with its operation and highly recommend it, especially with the QuietWarmth heated floor underlayment. April 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Many Settings This thermostat is easy to install and pair with any underfloor heating system. The extensive instructions and instructional DVD provide an easy walk through for installation. The unit allows for 4 programmable settings to customize the floor's heating throughout the day. Many other thermostats just have an on/off option. The unit has a white cover and a very basic look, but it gets the job done. August 20, 2015
