We purchased our first Quik Shade WE100 back in 2011 and it has served our family well during that time. Granted it may only get used 2 to 3 times a year, the construction is very good for the price that one can find them when on sale. We also own an EZ-Up brand shade and this gave me the opportunity to compare the two.
The EZ-Up is constructed with better tolerances. It feels much more sturdy but not like wood vs concrete kind of way but one can tell there is a slight difference. This is most apparent when deploying the shades. The EZ-Up is smoother.
Now the Quik Shade opens just as simple and if I did not own a competing brand I would have no point of reference to compare and the Quik Shade does everything it is supposed to do.
A quick item to note that shows cost has to come from somewhere when manufacturing. The carry case for the EZ-Up is made of a more durable/expensive Cordura type fabric and the zippers are of a larger tooth design. The shade is about a year older than the Quik Shade but the carry case has proven to be tough.
The Quik Shade carry case we got when we bought it is a typical nylon/polyester fabric. Very limp and fairly thin. Which brings me to my only reservation about the Quik Shade. Our carry case has torn in two spots. One at the adjacent right angle to the bottom wheel panel and another about 6" inches up on one side. This doesn't prevent us from using the Quik Shade but it is disappointing. Cost to replace the carry case is about half of a replacement shade unit!
So with that said, we ended up buying a second WE100, this time its a 2016 version and the carry case has changed but it is more of a plastic tarp-like material. It should be more durable than the previous nylon one but time will tell.
Would we recommend the Quik Shade? Absolutely. Just make sure to wait for end of season sales as the tend to go for very attractive prices at that time.

Last year I bought one of these from Sports Authority. This spring during some heavy winds one of the legs broke. I wasn't looking forward to spending $170 again so I contacted customer support on the off chance they could help me.
After getting off the phone with support I had a new leg for my canopy shipped to me for less than $20. It also arrived in under a week. Its rare to find a company that offers customer support without price gouging nowadays.
