Customer Questions & Answers

Can this product be used to make stepping stones?

I bought the concrete mix and it looks just like the cement bought at the hardware store, so I am curious!
Asked by: Lu
You bet, I would add about 50 percent mix, 25 percent sand, and 25 percent 1/4 inch gravel. Pour it in your mold, smooth it out, tap the sides to prevent rock pockets, add your finish stone to the top, then tap the finish stone in with a wood float so it's at the level of your mix, then take a brush and smear the cement around the rock edges. Monitor & when cement starts to harden, take a moist sponge and clean the finish stones. This product will set very fast and although can be used for this product, I would use a ready mix for stepping stones because you will get more workability time and same strength.

Can I use this to set a metal fence post on chain link

Asked by: Luther
You bet, I would add some 1/4 inch gravel in the mix and some sand. This will further strengthen the repair. They do sell ready mix for your project in the correct consistency.

Awhile back I bought this small amount of pre-mixed concrete patch. . . it did the job perfectly and I came back for hopefully a bigger size. . couldn't find it at all so I bought this. . thinking it was premixed ready to apply. . . it wasn't. . . . got ready to do my job and opened it up to find a fine powder. . . .so I sat and read directions and got it mixed to the right consistency. . figured it couldn't be too hard so I tried and it worked my first time around. This stuff works great! You just have to stir it till you get the right consistency and you can apply it pretty much like putty and use a putty knife to flatten it. . . . .you don't really need to hire someone to do this stuff you just need to make the time to do it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for repairs Is excellent for repairs that need to set up fast and hold form quickly. Just wish there was a larger bucket as it doesn't go a long way. Also be ready to use as soon as you mix up set up time in bucket is quick.

This patch was easy to mix and has a consistency that is kind of sticky making it excellent for vertical repairs and forming mortar roof caps. I used it for rock pocket repair on my concrete foundation, patio, and my tile roof mortar caps. I repaired/replaced all the mortar caps. It did not crack or shrink when mixed properly. The workability, finish, and appearance was remarkable. Just make sure to have the repair area ready, only mix what you need, work quickly, and you will be very happy with this product. I will use this for all my future cement or tile roof repairs. Dry's to a light grey color and blends in very well with existing concrete. Also stands up to the Arizona sun & heat.

I thought I was buying the cement already mixed. There were no directions on how when or where or how much water to add. I just made a guess and had to add more as I worked with it. It did dry quickly and seems to be holding up well. I just cannot believe there were no directions. I have used other qui9ck dry cement and it told me to jmi9x it with water first in a bucket. This did not. I tried to submit this but I had to enter a name and email. I do not like either of those things. You should be satisfied that I gave you a response at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Concrete Patcher I was having a problem with the curb in the garage that the structure was sitting on. It is spalling and needed to be repaired. So looking online on HD website I found the Quikrete Quick setting concrete. The product comes in dry form so you have to add water to the product. I would recommend to small batches since it sets in 10 to 15 minutes. Depending on the weather it sets up faster when its warm. It easy to work with and works great on the vertical of the curb. The hold great on it damage area, it smoothing out very easy. Great product to repair broken curb edges and concrete steps.
