Have looked in your various docs about this product. I would think the recommended maximum thickness and whether it should be applied in layers for horizontal and vertical applications would be mentioned somewhere. Please advise. Sorry if I missed any indication of such.

I use this often on driveways it's very easy to work with and I have done entire driveways, you only mix what you can spread at the time. I have also used it on small stucco jobs as a finish coat with a sponge finish. It has great bonding agents in it. I will come back at the end of the day and post a pic of one I am doing today

Off the top of my head, without researching what else is available for your needs, I'd say this probably wouldn't be my first choice for your purpose. You probably want something made for floor leveling. This stuff is more for fixing areas where chunks of concrete have chipped off.

It will be crucial that you have sufficient equipment and man power to allow apply material to the entire area before any of it has set. If some of the material sets before subsequent material is applied, a cold joint will form. A cold joint is caused by the inability of the product to intermix between mixes, and prevents the application from being a single, solid mass. A cold joint may cause problems ranging from a simple aesthetic issue, to as serious as potentially allowing for water intrusion into the cold joint, which may eventually lead to concrete degradation. You may also consider using QUIKRETE Sand Topping Mix #1103 blended with QUIKRETE Concrete Acrylic Fortifier #8610 replacing a portion of the water content – this is a normal setting product, which will allow you more time to place it. However, it cannot be used for areas thinner than 3/8” due to the aggregate it contains. Please contact the QUIKRETE Technical Center at 1-800-282-5828 to discuss further. Read Less

Does the entire bag have to be mixed at one time, much like regular concrete mix? Or can a few pounds at a time be removed from the bag and mixed to patch small areas?

Answer:
When I was patching the side of the house, I did it in batches. I would open the bag, make what I needed, then seal the bag and store it in a moisture-proof container (I used a 5 gallon tub with lid I picked up at a bakery). This worked fine for me and was cheaper than buying a 5 or 10 pound tub every so often.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific Moldable Concrete I am giving a facelift to old concrete steps by stamping a brick pattern on sides and facings using this concrete. So far, so good. June 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellant!! Used for crumbling foundation!! Held up through the brutal upstate NY winter, no cracks or crumbling!!! A+++++ May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I used this stuff years ago (maybe 10 ) in a area which sees the most water(by faucet) and a high traffic area. Still looks like it did when I put it down.It won't match concrete in color. I really don't think anything will match a concrete patch, all concrete is different color. Put new concrete next to old and it will be different. I plan on using this on my rough basement wall in places before I paint. I know it will work based on my usage before.Good stuff!! Also I live in Michigan where it freezes every year. January 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great on hiding oil stains in driveway This is the best for hiding oil stains, you really do not have to clean stain, just sprinkle over stain, spread litly with a broom and Walla!!!!!!! your done. I love this stuff. And remember don't add water just sprinkle and brush, works for me!!!!!! September 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well but dark color does not blend This stuff works pretty well but unfortunately the pigment is pretty dark compared to the various concrete areas that I've patched (not all the same concrete/pours so there is some variety). Most recently, I used it to re-point a driveway edge where a sudden rainstorm washed away the corner down to the aggregate before it had time to set on pour day. The main slab has a broom finish and I just broom finished this stuff as well and feathered it where it meets to hopefully ease the transition. It should start to look better over time the surface wears in. If not, I may try to use a resurfacer that is really wet and broom it across to get a consistent color. Or, maybe even this stuff just in a really really wet mix. May 13, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Patchy Color So far I can't recommend this product because it dries to a patchy color, some white spots and some dark spots. I followed the directions. It was easy to apply. August 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience I've read a few negative reviews on here which leads me to believe people don't know what they're doing. First and foremost do a little more research before attempting something you haven't done before. Check youtube videos and the manufactures website. This will give you a much better idea of where to start. Anyway, with my experience this stuff goes on very easily as long as it's mixed properly, there aren't any clumps in it, and you prepare the surface you're applying to properly. If you have the skill to use this it will def stick to whatever you're applying it to. Love this stuff. May 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Concrete Patch I have tried a variety of fixes for my deteriorating side walk and this is by far the best fix. It took some getting used to for mixing, but it went on fast, dried fast and looks good. Only time will tell how long it will last, but it looks good so far. Even did the kids hand prints well. So far I have not had a lot of luck with patching cracks, might take some practice. October 14, 2014
