Answer:
QUIKRETE® Commercial Grade Sand - Medium is a washed and dried silica sand with a predominant US size range of #20 to #50. It may be suitable for your application, but please check with the pool manufacturer to determine any specific gradation requirements for the sand used underneath the pool.

Answer:
We do not recommend adding anything to our pre-blended products. Adding sand to the QUIKRETE® Mortar Mix Type N would cause it to have a lesser performance, though the actual performance reduction would be dependent upon the quantity, quality and gradation of the sand used, along with other factors. Suitable for chicken coops?

I was told to purchase "construction grade" sand for my coop that has been washed and cleaned and contain no additives. I know it should be a coarser grit, even some little pebbles, primarily so the chickens won't inhale really fine particles. Would this be suitable as construction grade?

Answer:
QUIKRETE® All-Purpose Sand is a typical construction grade sand, but it is not recommended for use in creating habitats for wildlife. QUIKRETE® Play Sand is safe for use in sand boxes intended for children’s use – this is the sand we recommend for creating habitats for wildlife; however, please review with appropriate experts regarding the safe use of this clean sand for your chickens.

I couldn't find any info regarding the area covered by one 50 lb. bag. Also my research shows coarse sand is recommended for underlayment for paving -- is medium adequate?
